From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. You want you enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.
Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debate is welcomed and often produces great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

We are Scout Motors.
I have a few kids, so my family basically maintains a small fleet of vehicles. Discounting ones that are used by adult children (and not currently at my house). I have a light and a heavy work truck (Tacoma and F250), a TDI Golf as a commuter (I used to have close to a 200 mile daily commute) and a Jeep LJ for fun. My wife has an old Sienna for kid hauling (it had very little resale value when we got her new daily driver), a JLURD for a daily driver, and a Mustang for fun.
My wife drives the JLURD about 95% of the time, except for dropping kids off at school (1 mile a day). I rotate more often, sometimes multiple times per day depending on the trip (I currently am putting more miles on the LJ that I really want to, and less on the TDI as it really needs some shop time). The LJ is also a part time work vehicle

Cool, going all electric looks like? I still keep an ICE vehicle as a back up to our Chevy Bolt EUV, but there are ways to make all electric household work. My brother has been living with an electric vehicle only for a few years, and if he has a road trip, for example, he simply rents an ICE vehicle, and it still saves him a lot of money overall.
Driving a 2013 Ford Taurus. Last year at this time I had a 1984 F250 Diesel 4x4 for setting up my trail cams, sold that this summer so all I had was the Taurus to set the cams this weekend. Really looking forward to a scout!
