What did you reserve?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Terra with gas extender. Pretty excited that someone is finally using a full electric power train with the ability to recharge using gas when needed.

EV Traveler.

There are a lot of details to flesh out. No clue if they will be fleshed out completely till vehicles start rolling of the line. They did not mention driving assist features, they did not mention if a hard top will be an option (I live in a hot climate - I have NO desire for a rag top, no desire to deal with any additional heat or road noise that ultimately will come with it), they did not mention tongue weight limitations (without load balancing hitches). They did not mention camping/dog mode - which currently is not on a VW product. They did not show the rear seat (but have to expect it will be fold down). They did not mention how much EV range will be lost with the range extender - or exactly how the range extender will work (when does it need to come on to function correctly - can it maintain highway speed off of gas, or will the batteries continue to slowly discharge).

The range extender is a great idea in theory - but holding my breath if it will be great in practice. It would be great if it could effectively run on gas only IF EV charging was not available. But with questions unanswered - it will add complexity and maintenance to the vehicle, which could hamper the simplicity factor.

I can not say I like the price. It was not 100% unexpected. Would have felt a starting price of 50k would have keep the selling price (with options) at a more palatable level. Let's face it, a Wrangler might start at 35k (guess), but my Rubicon sure the hell did not.
It will have pet mode-was displayed in Terra last night. Designer also mentioned uploading your pets photo on the screen as well as part of their “connecting” pitch

Terra with the Gas extender. This whole launch was awesome. As someone who was already planning to get a new truck in 26/27 this will work out perfect. Funny thing is the last year they produced a Scout was the year I was born and 44 years later(my current age) we get the reveal. It was almost like destiny calling lol.

Terra Harvester. Have a lot of time between now and actual availability to digest the additional info that should be forthcoming and could see switching to pure EV. In either form looks like a nice small pickup option.
Funny thing is though after initially watching the launch video I too thought it was on the smaller side. However once looking at dimensions its same width with a longer wheel base and within 1" length overall of a F-150 crew cab with a 5.5ft bed.

Traveler Electric. I can't wait! It's going to be a L-O-O-O-O-ONG 2 years...
