What did you reserve?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I reserved both, Traveler and Terra, but I believe in the end I'll hold on to my Model Y and get the Terra all electric.

Traveller Harvester but I’m honestly not sure yet. It depends if it’ll be our commuter grocery getter or if we’ll replace our Land Cruiser with it. We tow a lot. If it’ll run off the gas generator I’d consider replacing our LC with it but we love the LC. If not I’ll switch to the Terra EV and replace our Tacoma.

One of each - they might replace my 2 Rivians. Figured they'll go with the Harvester versions first (more $$) so that's the version on both.

I reserved the Terra with the range extender. I will sell my FJ and Tacoma for this truck. I'm done with Toyota but still in love with my FJ. This truck beats all the specs of a Tacoma and does it on 35's?!? I do about 100 miles per day driving. The extender is an option for me that is there if I need it rather than need it and not have it. Texas is big. Trips to the Texas coast will see the ranger extender get used a lot. And I hope I have the ability to power my overland trailer with the Terra. I admit I don't have the knowledge of the vintage Scouts but I would be honored for this Scout to be my first EV.

Terra + Range option.
Really curious how the extender will flesh out and if it's something that you can also just leave running as you set up camp, get settled in so you can keep on with the EV portion to start the next day (with some extender help while driving over the battery-only range).
In a perfect setup it would be efficient and powerful enough to regen what's needed, as needed, and with a couple of Pax of fuel you can really get some distance out into the wild (Think of places like Big Bend or out in Capitol Reef) and be covered.
Really curious also on how these add-on skids and bumpers and such will start racking up the greenbacks.
I can easily see it $500-$1500 you in easy increments until you see that bottom line and think "maybe I'll wait on the aftermarket to see if there are better options with out a 'Scout Tax' built in.".
Also...Assumed the spare for the Terra is nestled underneath somewhere? From the architecture of the frame graphic the real estate where one would think it would be is occupied already.
And as a guy who does so, I'm already dreaming up some cool retro paint schemes that work with the body lines. I'd need to sink more money into it initially like a I need a hole in my head, but it's still where my mind starts to wander to.

Terra - all electric

Range Extender is something I would maybe use 1 or two times a year. The rest of the time I'd be hauling around extra mass for no reason, decreasing efficiency/range

Traveler Hybrid

Growing up as a kid my dad always had a Scout II, Terra, Traveler. When I moved to Colorado I picked up a 74 Scout II with the inline 6 and it had it for several years. I'm excited about these new ones.

Got the Traveler with extended range. Already have a full and mid size truck (Tacoma and F-150) and has been a bit since we had an SUV. Was looking at Lexus GX, new 4Runner, or Land Cruiser but the Traveler checked a few more boxes for now. Besides it's $100 for now and can back out later should things change.
