Finally grabbed a more recent shot of both of my main rides.I daily a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee (4.0L straight six) with a 3in lift and 31’s. I bought it used 16 years ago, and it was my/my wife’s sole vehicle until about 6 years ago.
Well “daily” is a bit of a stretch lately. Between working from home, and some repairs that have taken me longer than needed (radiator), it’s not been driven tons in the last year. It’s currently getting a leaky transmission fixed, and needs new tires. And with that it should be road worthy for another while longer. Hoping that it will make it until the scouts start shipping.
About 2 years ago we picked up a 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV that we’ve been loving. It replaced a 2005 Mazda 6 wagon that was nothing but problems (stranded us twice on family trips, 2 fuel pumps, motor mounts, throttle body, valve cover gaskets, main seals, control arms, wheel bearings, o2 sensors, etc). Even doing all the work myself the costs added up, and it just wasn’t reliable.
The Tucson PHEV is what opened our eyes to what driving an electric vehicle could be, and my wife in particular went from not wanting to have an EV, to being really open to one.
The Traveler harvester I reserved I hope replaces the ZJ for me. Big enough to take 5-6 people and their stuff snowshoeing, mountain biking or whatever, and capable of driving through whatever obstacles and weather gets in its way.

Rebuilt transmission and new tires since the last post, means it’s been driven a lot more lately (especially because someone hit our other car in the parking lot, and the other car has been in the shop for over a month now).
