What did you reserve?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Traveler with the Harvester - provided they maintain the 500 mile range estimate and the (assuming for the Harvester option) $60K price tag. Could change my mind and go with the electric only model.
The Harvester option will certainly not be included in the $60k base price. And it's entirely possible that the base model won't achieve the 350 mile range for the bev only version.

Pretty sure they stated production will start in 2027 for a 2028 vehicle. So I imagine their goal would be early 2027, so they could have it starting to be available by fall/winter 2027.

Of course who knows if they make it or not. It’s why I need to figure out what I’m doing for a truck for the next few years, I either need to buy and sell or lease and hope it’s ready.
Lease might be the best option, I also was considering buying a junker from the local Auction for temporary use.

Orange Traveler/Harvester with a white roof (solid, no opening), tan/brown plaid interior. Tow package and round-headlight grill package, but base otherwise.

I reserved the Traveler Harvester ~18hrs or so after announcement.

Coming from a 1997 Grand Cherokee. This ticks a lot of the same boxes, but will be 30 years newer :).

Traveler with the range extender. Really love the vehicle. The look is spot on too. Captured the original essence. Have a HLE bronco now that I will be holding onto. Have been waiting for an EV with a range extender.

went with the Terra, electric + gas
scout motors nailed both of these options, i just really hope those bench seats make it to production ^^
They said over and over at event that the bench seat will be an option. I hope it looks just as good at sale time. The photos don’t do the plaid stitching/perf design justice. The leather didn’t seem like a pure black either which made it look more designer and high end

I think it looks fantastic, but it certainly isn’t midsized. It’s the same length as a 2024 Tahoe and almost a foot wider according to the dimensions they provided.

Reserved a Traveler with range extender as well.
There is a reason we don’t see any pictures of the Traveler next to an IH Scout II. The similar styling would quickly be lost with scale. The Traveler is 21.6” (30%) wider and 40.3” (24%) longer than my Scout II! It is a few inches shorter and wider than a three row R1S. This is not a small SUV!
I still like it and ordered one.

I reserved a fully electric Traveler. My most frequent trip is to the southeast Appalachian mountains, and the full electric range should be good to get me there and back on a full charge (though not sure how driving in the mountains will impact range). Also, I'm thinking that charging infrastructure will be improved in three years, and if 20-80% charge is in the 20-30 minute range, driving to Michigan to visit my Dad should not be too painful. Maybe a charging break for lunch, an overnight charge at a hotel, and then all the way to my Dad's?

I know, I'm just wary of any final offerings or what safety regulations look like in 2-3 years. I don't fully understand them either, like how pop-up headlights are still deemed unsafe but you can buy a large EV truck with nothing but sharp corners

The plaid idea looks so neat, coming from a GTI with tartan seats I dig them. I saw the perforation up close on youtube.
