  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I am curious to see how many users keep the Harvester option in 2027/2028. When costs are released and with continued (slowly) improving infrastructure for charging, I am not sure it will be as popular an option as these reservations suggest.
As a current EV owner, I understand the gas extender for overlanders / off-roaders who are going to be carrying spare gas cans - it's a great way to make the Scout a "true" off-roader, and it differentiates the vehicle from anything else offered today. But 300+ miles of all-electric range and improving infrastructure will be enough for the vast majority of everyday use and road trips, and I am not sure how many people will really justify the extra cost/complexity/maintenance that comes with a gas engine stored inside the vehicle when it comes time to actually place the order. No judgement either way, just curious to see how it shakes out!
An interesting take with regards to a few years till they roll off the assembly line. My appreciation for the option is primarily for the truck version and being able to tow further.

I reserved the Terra with all ev option and must be a crew cab. I don’t want gas extender because i don’t want more parts to break and more service items. However, I would understand the ideal especially if you do tons of out of state traveling. I think it’s great to see the freedom of choice of all ev or an ev with range extender. My 22 year old ram truck with 300k miles has a lot of maintenance with a 7 inch lift and 35s. I hope they can deliver all things mentioned and at that price point mentioned and look pretty much just like the prototype without decreasing any sizes. Love the longer bed on crew cab versus the rivian and the off body frame with solid axles. Plus I need that higher tow rating to tow my 7-8k lb boat for fishing. So hope they don’t go lower than the 10k advertised.

Traveler electric only. I like the idea of bringing back the bench seat. My 1980 had a bench. Will be selling my 96 Discovery I 5-spd to get a Scout back in my stable.

Terra (Electric + Gas), wonder if production will be ready early or late 2027.
Pretty sure they stated production will start in 2027 for a 2028 vehicle. So I imagine their goal would be early 2027, so they could have it starting to be available by fall/winter 2027.

Of course who knows if they make it or not. It’s why I need to figure out what I’m doing for a truck for the next few years, I either need to buy and sell or lease and hope it’s ready.

Traveler with the Harvester - provided they maintain the 500 mile range estimate and the (assuming for the Harvester option) $60K price tag. Could change my mind and go with the electric only model.

I reserved the Terra in electric, but hoping you can shift models and types before production time as my needs may shift between no and 2027.
Just changed to Electic + Gas which was fairly easy and didnt seem to change my reservation number like when changing options with the Ford Lightning

Terra no gas extender for now, I really enjoy no maintenance/gas on my Tesla’s, I might change but right now I don’t miss gas at all.
That is my logic for picking this same configuration. I imagine the gasoline Harvester range extender option will also be a costly box to check on the order form. The concept image shown for where the ICE engine would go is under the rear pickup bed behind the solid rear axle and electric motor unit. Without the ICE engine, they might be able to fit a secure and dry trunk space underneath the bed, similar to a Honda Ridgeline.
