  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I like the sample dash. For everyday travel, it's very sleek.

Is it a screen that you have complete control over? If so, I would really love to be able to select an "off-road trail" dash when needed. On this would be a speedo that tops out at 50 or 60 mph, a compass, inclinometer, rollover tilt, altimeter, and 360 camera. A graphic of the four wheels and differentials which shows differentials locked, tires that turn yellow when slippage is detected, motor temperatures, tire pressures and sway bar disconnected. Vehicle approaching from the rear warning light could be handy for those side-by-sides that fly up quickly.
Great ideas!! I would definitely use features like these.

It would be so cool to have a simple elegant dash for around town and then be able to flip a switch and have the most intense off-road dash. I have a software package that reads OBD-II data and allows me to present 15 gauges on a tablet. I can select the gauges I want, the size, the location, the style (digital, old-school, etc) and the range I want displayed. Then I can set a point where I want the face of the gauge to turn yellow or red to give me an alert. I have this set up in my motor home. Out of the corner of my eye a yellow or red gauge catches my eye. Probably way overkill for most people but I'm a "technonerd" and I want to know exactly what's going on with my engine. If it's a sensor, I want to know what it's thinking! I guess that's why I like my 1980 Diesel. The only sensors I have to monitor is my ears and nose!

Looks good maybe have a different color scheme so the needle one color the numbers another. Also maybe they need to be a bit larger (numbers) so us OG's can see them. In addition, what about the other gauges Tachometer/Oil pressure/water temperature or are they going to be "idiot lights." Personally I prefer all gauges I can get as opposed to idiot lights.

I have a Land rover Discovery it has a sign on the dash tells you the speed limit of the area you are in looks like a speed limit sign. In addition, when I come to a stop the engine shuts down does not idle at lights. Saves on gas...even if it is a little bit. Just some nice creature features to have.

If you really want me to feel at home, then "55" needs to be red. (grin) I know I've joked about this before, but how cool would it be if you could select "retro" on the speedometer options and have the needle waver around the speed of travel. (Too far?) I am liking everything about this Scout.
I feel you... i was thinking that for me, it needs a Tach to look complete

This is over a year old and there have been updates since (and of course there will be lots of changes and new stuff that Scout & Rivian will collaborate on, but this should give you an idea of what sort of interface you might expect to see. It is really good:

Not sure about oil pressure gauge on an electric vehicle. *grin* But you made me think about what gauges I might want to see with regards to the Traveler engine. Hmmmmm......
