Scout Motors at CES 2025

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Were you able to touch the leather? If so give a report about how it felt lol. Do you think it will hold up over years of use?
I do. Materials feel top quality. Similar to the feel of the Rivian interiors. I was very impressed. Couldn't find any feature that felt in any way cheap. Think they're going for a very purpose built vehicle that still feels very comfortable and well built inside.

Just watched the out of spec video and that was great as well. Glad to see the pet mode is included, that was a must have for me. Still hoping for some ceiling ac vents in the rear for production to make it perfect. Was good to see Kyle sitting in the rear seats to get an idea of legroom as well, not quite as much as an F-150 it would seem but still good enough for my needs.

Thats what i like to hear! About a New but Old company. Good stuff to hear/read.

The only thing that I wasn’t sure about was the size of the icons on the climate bar. I would have preferred them about 120-150% larger. Granted, I really need to go to the eye doctor very soon. It’s a temporary overlay: I don’t think much is lost by having it there as a transient item on the screen for a couple of seconds while you adjust the setting. I understand what was said about reducing cognitive load, but those icons seemed hard to interpret on the OOS vidya. In person, it might be easier on neglected eyes. It also might not.

In my discussion with whoever the gentleman was that was there from Scout, he did make it very clear that these are still in prototype stage and what was presented might still change. Does seem to me that they will incorporate customer feedback into what they do. Already felt like they had, given how many things they've incorporated into the vehicles that just feel like the perfect choice for an off roader that can double as a very nice daily driver. What's interesting for me is that I have no particular connection to the Scout brand. Always thought the old ones were kind of cool in a quirky sort of way, but it's not as if I'd been sitting around waiting for someone to resurrect the brand. The Traveler just hit on everything I'd been looking for in a vehicle.

I also watched the Out of Spec video; the UX was great. I don't have vision issues, but I agree with @Scoutsie that some of the temporary icons need to be more significant to be seen and recognized at a glance while driving. Sure, at some point, it will be muscle memory, but until that happens, I would rather be able to see the icons safely while driving.

2years is far away? You must have just joined the party that almost over. Think about us that have been here/known about this for over 3 years. We see new Travelers and Terra’s coming off of the production line with the speed the past few months have been bringing.
Exactly! I kept looking at those pictures with the car shapes in shadow and telling my husband the reveal was the last thing I was waiting for before making my final decision on what car. I have test driven EVERYTHING that's out there and looked at everything coming and once I saw the reveal decision made!

Ok so in Kyles video you can see the Outdoors Menu. This is a huge deal and I'm not talking about camping..

Welcome to Generator Mode! This is something I was asking for multiple times in various threads and super stocked to see this here. Imagine the power going out at your house due to a storm and being able to hook up your refrigerator/wifi/lights/etc. to the Scout in a proper generator mode. No more tossing out the whole fridge, having no communications, or living with candles waiting for the power to come back. Considering the size of the battery pack you'd have power for days and equip the thing with Harvester, you're probably looking at weeks. That's amazing.

I got to see them at CES yesterday and reserved today. Absolutely loved. I have a Rivian now which I also love, but love the retro design of Scout.
Welcome to the forum. 2 years of hoping and dreaming so if there’s any topics you are interested in check the search button and read until your heart’s content 😀

The real question is if we'll get a 240v outlet on the exterior of the Traveler.

Because like you, I love the idea of using it this way. I live somewhere where we generally get 1-3 longer-ish power outages a year at a minimum (longer-ish meaning 12-48hrs). I'd absolutely love to open the garage door, back out the Traveler, plug the houses transfer switch into the Traveler, lock the Traveler, and come back inside.

The key here is that when we have power outages here... is usually heavy weather (50-80mph winds, rain, snow). So an exterior outlet is key, if I don't want to ruin the interior of the Scout anyway (or leave it open to have random people drive by and potentially get in the vehicle...)

This is so good I'm quoting it for any Scout employees reading this thread. Not everyone will go off-roading into the middle of nowhere Moab, but everyone does experience power outages, especially those who live in more outdoorsy parts of the country. Being able to use your Scout to power your home is a no brainer feature to have. It's relatively cheap to implement, it would be a huge value to the demographic Scout will sell into, and actually it's on brand considering the farm work truck/swiss army knife history.

That generator is a big part of my decision making process. Just smart to be able to extend range so dramatically if needed. Agree that it would be a no brainer to have the capability to use it to power certain appliances in an outage.
