What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
The one "Loves" or useful options on my Wrangler is the ability to engage rear or front axles alone. I can make it a front wheel drive only or rear wheel drive only or both. Along with the programer (Taser) I can lock the front brakes only "Line lock". Yes I understand guys will use it for Burnouts but before winching someone out you can dig your rear wheels into the ground for a solid anchor. Front wheel drive only is great in deep snow and for climbing up a big rock or ledge and also for "front dig" the ability to drag the front end around.

This I'm sure could be done with software. In my Jeep it required changing the transfer case along with programer.

One of the things I hate about my Gladiator, which is the only modern offroad vehicle I own, is how much I'm limited by various traction, stability, and anti lock nannies in off road situations.

Nothing like climbing 2/3 of a hill because the PCM decided I didn't actually need full throttle and 1/3 would do fine.

Same with my Ram, it cutting throttle while I'm trying to keep my wheelspeed and momentum up while pulling my trailer through muddy or snowy fields is maddening. Out htere stuck, cold, wet, because my vehicle basically said, "eff you, lol".

The main thing I do not like about my Wrangler is the ride and lack of steering feel/ drifting all over a lane. Though, Scout is already going to be better just from having independent suspension. Also, I do like to have the ability to work on the Jeep if I want to so if I wanted to change the oil etc. Also, related to that if you get the harvester I was wondering if anyone has any ideas how you would have to change the oil for it. Since I hope it would not be an engine out job so I was thinking maybe have a rear hatch that is weather sealed under the trunk floor that can be opened to give access to the top of the harvester engine where maybe the oil fill and possibly dip stick would be. This idea is just for the Traveller with the harvester and for the terra maybe a hatch from the bed floor where you lift it up and get top access to the harvester. Just something I just thought of, not sure how feasible they are it is just an idea I had for the possible issue of harvester serviceability.
