2025 Toyota 4-runner reveal

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
This should be a good benchmark as well. Pretty good looking vehicle

This will sell very well. There are 4 Runners everywhere in Charleston. Many are 2wd. I did not see in the video if they will offer 2wd or not. Maybe I missed it. It looks very evolutionary. I think they have too many trim levels, but what do I know.

The removable JBL speakers are great and feel really I integrated-I’d love to see same approach on the new Scout. The integrated mini light bar on the front of the trail version is nice as well. That would be a nice one-off add option for the scout as well

Knowing Acura just dropped the 2wd on their RDX (top seller) and nothing mentioned on Toyota’s launch, I wouldn’t be surprised if 4Runner only comes in 4wd.

I believe I heard "Standard part-time 4WD " in the video.
Totally agree on the trim levels. Same with Bronco. It ends up being very frustrating because I'll end up wanting a vehicle that I can't configure even though all the options exist, just not in the same trim level.

Things like this seem like a good idea until next year when JBL stops making that exact design speaker and the one in your car breaks and now you have a scavenger hunt to find a used one on ebay.

Probably a great vehicle BUT no removeable roof so no thanks. Scout needs to offer a removeable roof if only to limit the competition. Why take a chance on an all new vehicle from an all new company if I can buy a Toyota (Land Cruiser or 4Runner)? For me, Jeep and Bronco are lower bars to beat qualitywise.

I did hear there is a full time and part time 4x4 option. That’s similar to Grand Cherokee which is probably the most direct competitor to the 4Runner

I haven't made up my mind on the aesthetics of the exterior design, clearly the Tacoma was a major influence behind it. Perhaps I'm more biased and prefer boxy designs. I do like how the rear windows slightly fit into the roof line like the mid-late 80 style 4runners. The inability to remove the roof makes it an easy decision to not consider. Competition is good, and at the moment if I had to choose for a future utilitarian vechicle I would opt for the R2, while it doesn't have a removable top the sunroof provides enough of the open air experience.

Totally agree - too much going on for me, and seems like just more of the same for this model.
They nailed the exterior, interior and shape with the new Landcruiser, but this seems to be a sidestep.
And it is a Toyota, which in my experience has been a laggard, and has mediocre service, which is only OK since they don't normally require much service.
Will be a lot more exciting to see what Scout drops!
