Welcome and Introductions!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Figured I'd introduce myself. The name is Shane and I reserved a Terra Harvester. Been a farmer my whole life and always had IH stuff around. Currently still have a beat up '66 1100A pickup I use on occasion. Besides still running the family farm I run a nuisance wildlife removal business. Bought a Ford Maverick for business use last year because of the mileage. Mileage is great but definitely short on room for equipment. Looking forward to a full size pickup with affordable mileage again. All the other EV options look like they aren't meant for anything beyond grocery trips on pavement. I'm hoping this new version can take a beating and keep on going like it's predecessor.
Welcome to the forum Shane!

Hiya! Welcome to the forums! 👋

Hello, my name is Joey, and I too am a recovering addict of 4x4 toys.

I'm also a frequent early adopter, for better or for worse - - - currently driving a 2021 Ford Bronco that I waited a year and a half for.

I fell in love with IH when I first set eyes on a Scout II, and what I'm hoping to see Scout deliver on in this new lineup is the perfect balance of "old & new". I know it seems small detail to most - but offering something as simple as 'benchseats' just tickles my nostalgic soul. Ford did a fantastic job respecting the heritage of the Bronco design choices, but they fell short in my opinion when they offered a cheap plastic interior and minimal customization options. I have a Terra Harvester reservation and can't wait to see what Scout comes up with.

PS - Cutting out dealerships also tickles my soul.

Welcome Joey,
Happy to have you hear. You're in good company here, many suffer from the same disease as you. Some are reluctant to change, self admittedly, I've come to grip this is now my identity and only plan to decrease my addiction, but never plan to fully recover.

As Dave Ramsey says, if you want the damn car buy it. No, he didn't really say that!

Glad to have you here Joey - welcome!

Sorry to hear you had to wait so long for the Bronco. I’ve heard sooo many Bronco stories like that. I’m looking forward to a smoother launch from Scout Motors.

Welcome to the show. Glad to have you. fYI-having seen the vehicles in person I’d say you’ll love the interiors vs the Bronco (which I owned for 1-1/2 years then dumped) but you’ll see those stories as you dig in deep here 🤣
Again-welcome to the forum

And just realized you are another PA member so even better 🤣

Well. We just put a reservation in. Can't wait to have our new scout parked next to our 72 scout.

All,
Just wanted to say hi! I've reserved a Traveler and I'm all in for this!!! It's been several years since I've owned a Scout, but I've been an IH fan since very early 2000's. I've had a Scout 80, 2 Scout II's (a driver and a rock crawler) and for a short while I had a Travelall that was once owned by Yahoo.

Old Schoolers,
Curious if anyone from my past has made a reservation? Any of you know this guy... JoshC on Pirate4x4 / JoshC on BinderBulletin
I was young back then so forgive some of my commentary. I'm a slightly more civilized these days ;-)

Scout Motors,
Hat's off to your design team/s. I've done 2 frame-off SII builds, narrowed a SII body, swapped/fabricated suspension and steering components, and converted a 304 to run on LPG... I know every inch of a SII and YA'LL HIT THE MARK with your Traveler.

Here's a great album from a multi-state meetup on the Rubicon Trail in 2005.
