From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.
Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

Man, over a month has flown by... sorry for the lack of recent updates!
Big news and our first major milestone this year, is our official Scout Factory groundbreaking in Blythewood, South Carolina. This will take place on February 15th.
Chris and myself (as well as a camera crew, video crew, and a handful of journalists) will start a rally this Monday bringing a brick from the original Scout Factory in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the site of the new factory in Blythewood, South Carolina. We will be driving the brick down to Blythewood in a small group of legacy Scouts.
The state and county continue their work prepping the site, but we are close to starting our own construction as well:
I will post some live updates along the route on our Fort Wayne to Blythewood Scout rally. I will also post up photos from the event itself. Stay tuned...

Greatly appreciate the updates! Things have been quiet around here, but expecting it to pick up as the reveal approaches this summer.

That's one lucky brick. When the Las Vegas Raiders opened their stadium they allowed fans to purchase personalized bricks that would be featured at the entrance. I thought this was a great idea. That program ended as the stadium has been built but the link is here more details if that would be something SM would consider.

It’s o’dark-thirty this frosty morning in Fort Wayne, Indiana. An adventure awaits as we start our journey with our trusty Scouts and a brick from the original Scout Factory on its way to Blythewood, South Carolina for the groundbreaking of the new Scout Motors factory.

Glad to see this gesture of respect toward the Legacy Scouts and the IH ancestry.
The lack of a Scout 80 in the lineup is disappointing, since they truly started it all. Admittedly, though, an 80 might have slightly slowed the procession of this very welcome show of respect.

Today was a great first leg of our journey. Starting at the heart of Fort Wayne, Indiana we headed out to the original International Harvester factory complex in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
We met up with Ryan Duvall and the crew from Harvester Homecoming at the former IH Engineering Center. Ryan was gracious enough to provide a tour for our group of their outstanding collection of International Harvester trucks and Scouts.
After the tour, we were presented two brick from the original Scout plant courtesy of the Tippmann Family and Harvester Homecoming to take on our rally from the original Fort Wayne Scout factory to the groundbreaking of the new Scout factory in Blythewood, South Carolina.
On the way out we stopped by door 12A where Scouts originally rolled off the assembly line and left the factory building.
From Fort Wayne, we headed South West to Enon, Ohio to stop in to see John Glancy at Scout Light Line Parts.
John has one of the largest collections of IH memorabilia in the world, an outstanding museum/display area of beautiful Scout (including on-loan, FC501 - the first Scout off the assembly line) and is one of the largest Scout parts businesses in the nation.
Noted Scout historian, Jim Allen signed a few copies of The Scout Encyclopedia with co-author with John Glancy.
We also took the opportunity to take a photo with John and Jim and the Fort Wayne plant brick in front of the first Scout off the assembly line, FC501.
From there we continued on to Lexington for the night. After a late arrival in the rain we grabbed a bite to eat and got ready for our next leg tomorrow from Lexington to Asheville, NC as we head to Blythewood, South Carolina and the new Scout factory.
