Dimensions

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Is it really this huge? For reference, a Bronco Raptor is 191" long, 77.8" tall and 85.7" wide and that is a wide f'n truck. A RAPTOR!

My concern is with parking it. From what I looked up, standard parking spaces are 96-108” wide. That leaves no room to open the door and get out!
What do you mean!? You'll have at least 5 whole inches! Maybe we can climb out of the roof or out the back? lol 🙃

I think the only place we'll safely be able to fit these is in a Costco parking lot...or next to a lake.

Scout’s 91.6” width includes mirrors.

F150 Raptor is 96” wide with mirrors and 86.6” without mirrors, for reference.

The tires and fenders appear equally as wide as the mirrors at 91.6” on the Scout.

So it seems the Scout closer to a full-size SUV than a Jeep or Bronco, even the Braptor.

My Flex is 76” wide without mirrors and it’s a pain to find places to park sometimes already. This could be interesting.

It’s nearly identical in size to the new Hummer SUV, I think the Scout looks much and in reveal videos it doesnt appear to be nearly as big when a person is next to it. I wonder if the dimensions (specifically the width) are accurate on the website

Yeah, these dimensions sounds insanely huge. The width is the one that scares me. It is way bigger than even a cybertruck? It doesn’t make sense. Hope Scout clarifies this.

The Cybertruck is a mid sized truck. The long bed Tacoma is longer than it and a lot taller. And only 2 inches shorter in width.

I hope these dimensions are correct because I'm sick of these tiny electric trucks. This is America for goodness sake!

My Sequoia is 80" wide without mirrors. The new Traveler says 91.6" width (appears to be width without mirrors).

So it would be about a foot wider than a Sequoia ? And that Sequoia is not easy to park.

I'm guessing the width online is not correct or the production vehicle will not be that wide.

The length seems right with the rear tire carrrier.

I'd love a wide vehicle like that. May suck to park sometimes, but man that would be massive. Fingers crossed.

But I also agree that there must be a mis-print or something there. I bet its more like 81". It would have been very apparent in the reveal video if it was that wide.

I had a Gen 2 Raptor. The width takes some getting used to, but it’s manageable. The height on the Traveler is good since it means it can still access 6’ 8” parking garages.

This is definitely closer to the size of a Tahoe than it is a Bronco or a wrangler

Scout reps said 15% of the Scouts shown yesterday are still "fantasy" so maybe the size/dimensions are one of those things that are still just "concepts" 🤷🏻‍♂️

Vehicle sizes often change from concept to production version.

The Traveler wheelbase has surpassed the last Travelall! (120.4" vs 119")

I put in a Traveler reservation, but I'm concerned about the size. This would need to be a daily driver for me, and my work means I'm having to park in urban environments pretty frequently. That means tight parallel parking, smaller spaces and narrower road lanes.

Out of curiosity, I did a scaling exercise on both the 360 images and the dimensions illustration from the website. I scaled it on the tire height assuming 35". This gave me measurements closer to 196" length from front bumper to edge of spare and 84" width measured at the front fender flares. Height was pretty close to what is listed. Obviously everything is still a bit in flux, but if it ends up being truly as big as the dimensions are listed on the site, I may end up having to sadly pass.

I don’t think the width value is correct.

I measured the height and width of the vehicle drawing precisely with calipers and found the width is 1.127 times the height. If the height measurement is correct at 76.3 the width is actually about 86.0 in (with mirrors because they do not project).

Hopefully, we’ll get some clarification.

Attendees at the event didn’t seem to think the vehicles were absurdly huge, just “midsized”.
