Decoding Reservation Numbers

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
During the live reveal, as soon as Scott said reservations are live, I hopped on another device and reserved quickly. Confirmation email at 3:30 Pacific.
Same, ordered Traveler with Range Extender. Live in Portland Oregon got confirmation email at 3:31 PST. Res #

4715542336, Reserved Electric only Traveler at 6:40am this morning but used my forum account email address. Surely everyone saw the email yesterday that forum members will be bumped ahead in line.

I wonder how much build order will be influenced by commodities.. Ordered a Bronco a few years back and it was a train wreck of forum speculation.

From watching other vehicles launches, your reservation timestamp means nothing.

Scout said they will give priority to existing forum members who have a reservation before Oct 31. This is what will matter. From there it will really depend on what model, trim, and options you order on top of geographic location.

Will they give priority to high profile social media people? I have seen YouTube folks who got a Rivian very quickly despite others with reservations waiting years.

What about leaders of larger Scout clubs/off-road enthusiast groups?
What about high volume VW dealers?

How many reservations do they end up with vs production capacity? How quickly will they be able to ramp up production?

There's so many variables.
What I do know is that if you're too worried about the fact that Joe that reserves next Jan and managers to get a vehicle before you who reserved first day, you're just going to get upset and lessen your enjoyment of the truck.
Be patient and you'll get your vehicle.

Traveler with Range Extender. I live in South Carolina and got the confirmation email at 6:31 EST.

Howdy folks and happy Scout day!

Many of us are excited and quickly reserved the new vehicles, however we received a long reservation number that doesn't clearly show our "true number" in line. My number for example is in the #64550572X and I reserved a Traveler + Gas about an hour after reveal. Typically, companies obfuscate the reservation numbers, as to hide the "true numbers" (large or small) from the world. However, if we all come together, we can compare numbers and get a rough idea of our place in line!

Example: Tesla folks did this too!

We need to decipher this together, so please join in! We don't know if reservation numbers are unique to the model selected and/or the engine type, so when adding info, please provide:

1. Your reservation number -- Maybe hide the last digit for some form privacy?
2. The model AND engine type you selected
3. Roughly when you made your reservation

#194628905X. Traveler EV

Placed 10.24.24, 3:33 pm before the reveal ended.

Also, when I ordered our Leaf 15 years ago, your location in the country mattered. Not every state was allowed to convert a reservation to an order or even got 1st year models. I suspect that was an “exotic EV” thing back then.

Terra & Traveler EV - 2:27 pm & 2:28 pm 10/25/24

Wanted the Terra, but the Traveler looks so good from every angle and I couldn't decide. Glad it's refundable when I finally get around to deciding .

I will tell you all-Jamie told us they are randomizing. They don’t want an issue like Bronco had and 10 minute after reservations taking two years due to constraint or certain build schedules. They are avoiding this to keep everyone happy but if you have a magic cipher you may get something figured out 🤣
In the long run we will all be happier!
