Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Charlotte, NC here. Would love to do a factory pickup option.

Little concerned about NCs dealer protection laws making the direct purchase from Scout impossible... but I have bought plenty of vehicles in SC.

South Carolina has similar dealer protection laws. Maybe Scout, being based in SC for manufacturing, can be what finally convinces the General Assembly to cut it out with such nonsense.

Having purchased a car directly from Tesla in North Carolina....I can assure you that those Dealer Protection Laws do not get in the way.

And....I'd be so down for a pickup at the factory. If BMW, Porsche, and Chevy (for the Corvette at the National Corvette Museum) can do it there's no reason Scout shouldn't! Would be an awesome trip....even if for me it'd only be a couple hours. :)

I'm curious whether factory deliveries, particularly for early reservation holders, are being considered by Scout. That would be similar to what some folks have been able to do with Rivian, picking up their R1 in Normal and then driving it home.

In my case the round-trip of 14 miles to collect the Terra Harvester that I reserved might be pretty arduous, but I'd be willing to give it the old college try. :)
I would love to do this. My 1 way trip would be 2,628 miles. :)

I would absolutely head to South Carolina to pick up my Terra from the factory, if it really is an option.

The trip for me would be 930 miles one-way, according to Google Maps. So I would likely fly in and drive home. According to Google, the closest commercial airport to Blythewood, SC is Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE), which is 27 miles away. Now I just need a confirmed delivery date on my order so I can make reservations. :p

I guess there's no good way to coordinate this because it will be based on when reservations were received, but I was thinking it might be fun if a group of us from the same region could do a group trip down to pick up our new Scouts. In my case, it would be the Northeast region.

We could then do a rolling caravan of Scouts back home on the highway. Probably turn a few heads at the sight of it.

That would be amazing! What a fun idea! I don't know if anyone saw the video of the Lucid Gravity being delivered to the first owners to get them. They had a line of them and they drove them all out of the factory. The only thing I dind't like was they were all the same, They looked like the same color. It would be fun if we had Scouts with all different colors and stripes and accessories rolling out of the factory and down the road together.

I suggested this to Jamie with regard to the group of us that was lucky enough to go to the reveal. He loved the idea but as mentioned the coordination would be tough and depending on reservation order it could be months apart. I do love the idea though
