Community Tour

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Valley Forge would be a cool spot to eventually have the new prototype tour stop because of the rural nature and strong history with Civil war and growth of the nation. Lot of great spots for photo shoots. I’d be happy to drive the hour or so to get there and then you’d have Philly close too.

@Chris@ScoutMotors - Coming down to SoFlo anytime soon? I would love to see some Scout love down here as well.

I'm in the interesting position of owning a Scout II (4th one) and being a VW Master Technician (also HVT/battery repair). It would be a dream to work with the team on getting the new Scouts to market and going. Do you have any idea of what positions you guys will/do need that would apply to technician with business degree? Maybe something about setting up service/repair network? Practical input on design of functions and operations of vehicle systems?

Hey All,

I want to get this thread going to keep everyone on here up to date as to the different stops I'll be making around the country to meet with various Scout clubs, communities, crews, builders, etc.

I'll be posting up a schedule of the different locations and dates, as the schedule develops. Feel free to come out and meet as I swing through town, and if you don't see a location on here, and are interested in meeting, just let me know and I'll try to add it to the tour!

Chris
Hey Chris, would love to chat about you guys coming to Charleston. www.woodlandsnaturereserve.com We have an event coming up in October that would be an awesome place for Scout to visit. https://www.woodlandsnaturereserve.com/overland-south/ or we are putting together an e-motorsports event that Scout could be the title sponsor. Please reach out so we can discuss. Anyone reading this thread, please feel free to check out the woodlands and the previous Overlands South events, would love to have you. The upcoming event will be posted soon so check back often.

Regards
Chris Kap

Any plans to come to jersey??
I'm sure Jersey is a beautiful location, but it's small size 9mi x 5mi (46 square miles) and isolation in the middle of the English Channel probably make the sales prospects a little lower than Chris might like. OTOH, there are 346 miles of roads and the land is 50% agricultural, so the Scout Pickup might just be ideal for the remaining few farmers, exactly as Ted Ornas had anticipated. And if Chris gets to Jersey he'll be sure to give the designers a strong nudge to make RHD a reality.

@[email protected] Obviously hitting the big regional gatherings that have been long established should be amongst your first places to visit with the Legacy Scout owners: Sierra, Colorado, Charlotte, HitH, etc. The Scout New England group is not well organized yet, but does have a fall gathering at one of the largest car shows in Central New England. I'd advise waiting until you have a vehicle to show, because that will attract a much wider audience from the 1000+ cars in attendance. New England will certainly be a large market (at least judging by the number of EVs and Broncos I observe). It might seem a rather soft target, but the word will trickle back to all six states plus the location is midway along the NE segment of the Bos-Wash mega-city. Plus you'll have about two dozen Legacy IH owners to support you. No, unless you generate it, there won't be the media coverage you'd get at the Boston Car Show, rather think of it as cluster-bombing your message into a potentially very receptive market. The show is in Brimfield, MA, typically on the Indigenous Peoples (Columbus) Day Weekend. The Scout New England facebook group page will have the details.
Similarly, the annual truck show in Carlisle, PA has a massive draw of folks from the lower segment of the Bos-Wash urban complex. For you the drawback might be the focus on trucks rather than cars/SUVs, but the fact that Triple-Diamond Four Wheelers (the regional Scout club) has a long established presence there is real positive. The date has conflicted with Harvester Homecoming most years.
Also similarly, the Rhinebeck Auto Show in the mid-Hudson valley of NY has been in existence forever. It is three days in May: 1 swap meet, 2 modern & hotrod, 3 classics & antiques. There's no local Legacy IH group to support you, but several individual owners are nearby. Again I think you'd be wise to have a vehicle or two to show. Like Brimfield, the sphere of influence is enormous given the established tradition and being there right next to the NYC (& suburbs) market.
