B&O was somewhere between marginal and terrible in my Raptor. I really like the Harmon Kardon in my TRX.
You would think the McIntosh system would be strongly considered by SM. The digitally displayed analog meters play into the futuristic retro vibe. I think it's a great fit. If McIntosh remains mostly autonomous from Bose, I don't see that as a bad thing necessarily. Needs to be tuned to the cabin though as has been mentioned. That's a must. Just another reason to make all options à la c
Scout's Chief Design Officer Chris Benjamin was responsible for the Jeep grand Cherokee and Wagoneer interiors . He is certainly familiar with McIntosh. You would think the McIntosh system would be strongly considered by SM. The digitally displayed analog meters play into the futuristic retro vibe. Ummm...that's subjective. My preference is “none”. Tesla’s have great audio, and I don’t think any are branded. Scout should Just quietly make the audio awesome.
This list is suspect to begin with because some of those brands don't even make in-vehicle audio systems afaik.I can't believe Bose is winning this. "No highs, no lows - Bose" McIntosh would be incredible but of course Bose just bought them
Beats? Fender?
B&O is trash.
Anyone super serious about audio is going to rip and replace it all anyway.
It was just a list of several brands that people had been talking about. I am not certain, but I think most if not all have been in the automotive sound sector at one point or another. But, feel free to add or express opinions as Scout definitely reads the forum. This list is suspect to begin with because some of those brands don't even make in-vehicle audio systems afaik.
B&W is the best sounding system I have ever heard in a vehicle. Other high send systems would be Meridian and Mark Levinson. A notch below that would be Bose/HK/B&O. Forget the rest.
Just added it!@LastDayScout can you add a option for a Scout Made Audio System?
To me even though i would like to see an audio company make it. I think it would be more cost effective for Scout to make their own audio equipment like Tesla and Rivian do.
The worst branded audio system I ever had was Bose in my C4. It was soooo bad. Such a PITA to replace too because Bose decided to re-invent how everything worked. Couldn’t just replace speakers or AMP, or head unit. Even the speaker wire was some incompatible (really high gauge) wire and un-useable in a standard system. I’m sure it’s maybe un fair to rate Bose only on that car. They have some very clever audio products. And I think they were trying to go for a lightweight audio system in the corvette. It just aged really poorly, and then was completely incompatible with easily acquirable audio equipment. I vote Scout branded and good, but also sticking to standard sizes so stuff can be upgraded or replaced. How novel would that be in this day?I can't believe Bose is winning this. I can definitely tell good audio from bad. And a lot of the systems in the poll are probably getting votes because of their name...because they are not great. Anyway different strokes....Audio is very subjective unless you’ve got superhuman hearing ability and can pick up tones that most people can’t. I don’t think most people would be able to tell the difference in a blind test and at the end of the day it probably doesn’t matter and we’re most likely going to eat whatever dinner we’re served and if it that matters that much, the default audio will get ripped out and replaced.

Some people hear sound better than others but again-I can’t say one brand is better than another but the in-cabin tuning makes the difference in the endI can definitely tell good audio from bad. You are 100% correct. A lot of these brands made great sounding stuff at one time and then were sold off and now are just a name that makes junk. I would rather Scout doesn't have a brand name and just puts in good well tuned components. Tesla kind of does this although I don't feel their systems sound as great as others say. Better than most though for sure. With audio (especially speakers) you have to follow the designer more than the brand. Names like Andrew Jones and Sandy Goss have made great speakers for years for many different brands.I can definitely tell good audio from bad.
