Accessories Poll For Scouts

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Hi all,

At the request of the Scout Community, we are looking for feedback on your most requested Scout Traveler and Scout Terra accessories. You can vote for your top five, but our teams will consider anything added to the poll. If you would like us to add more items to the poll, please respond below, and I can add them.

Removeable spare tire carrier for Traveler.
What's on there looks awesome but would be cumbersome on a daily driver. Would be great to attach it when doing road trips then keep the spare/rack in the garage the rest of the time. If a body mounted rack can't be achieved, then a swing out hitch mounted rack would suffice. Note I will probably go this route either way, but I'm sure Scout could come up with a more elegant solution than what's out there.

I think what they did is the better option 🤣

I’d like to note that when I vote for rock rails, they can be very multi-functional. There are many examples out there that not only provide rocker protection when off road, but they also double as a step to get in (without sacrificing ground clearance) and be able to hand wash the roof or access a roof rack. They can also stick out far enough to keep excess mud and rocks off of the sides of the vehicle and keep parking lot scabs from giving you door dings. Done right, they can serve many purposes all at once.

I was thinking the same thing. Rock sliders that also function as a step. I have the factory rock sliders on my TRX and they have a small step built in (I’d like the step to be slightly larger).

100% agree.

I don’t want steps that stick out below rock sliders. But I’m ok with sliders than can function as a step. I just want the sliders to be smooth. So no protrusions below the slider, or along the slider.

I also don’t (personally) want running boards. They get ripped off too easily. Although if somehow a step deployed from a rock rail/under the vehicle, that would be ok too.

There are a lot of things I want, but in general I would probably prefer to handle with aftermarket parts. So my first would be working with aftermarket providers.

I will want an aftermarket front off road bumper with bull bar. But aftermarket can give a lot of options here. I will probably want a front winch, but again - aftermarket can offer a lot of options here as well. I will probably want off road lighting - but I have my own after market preference here as well. Quality floor mounts - aftermarket. I might be willing to get OEM rock rails, OEM accessory switches could be nice if done correctly. I WILL want roof bars or moreover a roof rack - but honestly, My main request there is a roof with GOOD attachment points. I will also probably put a dog divider in - aftermarket. Actual mollie style panels - well I am sure if I really want them aftermarket could cover that as well.

Agreed - I voted sparingly (Paint Protection Film, Frunk Fridge, Rock Sliders, Roof Rack) because while it would be awesome to get great accessories for all the things on the list directly from SM, based on other brands on the market the aftermarket companies will likely come out with great options

1)Window tint

2)Air compressor. Or maybe an open place to put one with the wiring in place?

3)Bidirectional charging, or a way to power a home with power outages. Have the harvester integrated into this.

4)A “camping mode” to heat or cool the traveler when parked. Let you limit the max watt hours used.

5) Tire chains.

6). Recovery points that can use a high lift jack on all corners
