Accessories Poll For Scouts

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I could see Scout Motors coming out with an actual rallye trim at some point in the future, but for those of us buying on day 1, I'd love to be able to purchase some kind of modern take on rallye decals.

I love your take on this with the dual color. I’ve seen other photoshopped graphics but the 2 tone is sweet.

I just saw this unboxing video of a Rivian Camp Kitchen.
Basically a Rivian-branded induction cooktop and workstation for the tailgate. It would be cool to see something like this with a Scout brand!

Was playing around today building a new Toyota 4-runner and stumbled on some cool accessories that would be cool in a similar manner. Using the option of phone, card, wrist band for access the hidden key holder compartment is great along with the other options for the same niche space. Also like the “themed” cords. If Scout did like braided orange plug cords I’d pay for that option. The Lexus we bought came with a pack as part of tech option and they are really nice-and a touch longer than typical cords. Just thought these were cool ideas
Themed charging cords would be fun. They should sell them now in Scout Supply. My only caveat with the Toyota ones. We got those added in with our Supra and they wouldn’t take them off. It’s a lot to pay for 3 cords. And you can’t pick what you need so you get cords you can’t use. If you are going to include them make it so you can select the type of cords you actually use please.

Been a few months since my first reply, and I still stand generally by a good aftermarket community - but here are a few things I don't expect, but would be nice bonuses.

It would be nice if Scout gave us some open accessory switches. The accessory switch panel I got for my LJ is mosfet controlled. The switches are very low amperage, but they control a bank of "relays" that provide power (the relays are actually mosfet amplifiers - so they effectively work like a combination self resetting breaker and relay combination). If we want to extend this a bit - perhaps even run the wiring for a few of them - so have a switched aux plug (Anderson power pole?) to a few strategic locations (like one to the back to plug in a decent refrigerator. Sadly the best I really expect is a few extra USB C plugs.

My problem with OEM off-road bumpers is I don't think I have ever seen one that offers decent front protection for animal strikes. I prefer 4 corner protection in the front. For my truck I have a Ranch Hand full replacement bumper. For my Tacoma I got a simular design (but aluminum) from ARB. Sure the ARB is not as strong, but it weighs at least 200lbs less.
---
I like the idea of a storage box inside the tire carrier - make it lockable. Place to put the key when playing in the water maybe. Not sure how visible the frame will be in the Scout - but custom frame colors seems interesting. If these are direct sales, made to order - probably would not be that hard to run the frame through the paint shop. If the coil springs are visible, custom paint those to match as well.

Accessories that are best done OEM rather than aftermarket would def include the air compressor and tent. It’d be helpful to have a grill guard that’s not obnoxiously huge and heavy but protective against deer. I’d recommend that, to degree possible, keep weight down to keep range up. For those of us in the frozen tundra charging cords that are flexible in low temperatures is really appreciated. Also, a defrost mode that includes the charging port and door handles. It’s all fun and games until your cord is frozen in the port. The one issue with NACS is it has a delicate little pin on the female side that folks have broken off or mangled when they’re not careful with cord (or they get ice/snow in port and aren’t patient enough to get a qtip). A 33” tire option would be great to maintain range. A vehicle feature that is surprisingly helpful is camp mode…kind of assuming auto steer and adaptive cruise will be standard. I love the modern vintage vibe of the prototype interior:)

Camp mode has been shown as a prelim at the CES show! 33” tires will be the standard size tire for the Scouts.
Like the other ideas you listed as well-defrost points are something I wouldn’t think of as a newbie but then then again, PA generally doesn’t get below -5 and that is very rare

Removeable spare tire carrier for Traveler.
What's on there looks awesome but would be cumbersome on a daily driver. Would be great to attach it when doing road trips then keep the spare/rack in the garage the rest of the time. If a body mounted rack can't be achieved, then a swing out hitch mounted rack would suffice. Note I will probably go this route either way, but I'm sure Scout could come up with a more elegant solution than what's out there.
I agree 100%, the design is great for road trips and off-road excursions but a major drawback for daily use. The entire swing gate needs to be easily removable for daily use. I carry around a patch kit and a portable compressor which is all you really need in the city/day to day.

I just love the way it looks with the tire on the back, I kept telling my husband they are never going to make anything electric with a tire on the back and 35s and then came Scout. I’ll put up with the inconvenience.

I hear you but the frunk was very roomy in person and could probably handle daily needs unless you have kids playing hockey or long item sports. We dealt with recurve archery so I know that would be tight at 68” long but might shoehorn in on an angle 😀

Having been fortunate to see it in person the rear spare makes it and as I posted, the frunk can handle a good portion of daily. I get if you have a small garage you are going to struggle but if the room is there the spare seems mandatory for the overall cool look but maybe when the show one complete with no tire maybe I will like it as well.
