Accessories Poll For Scouts

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Factory window tint. Of course, it would be legal limits. Dealerships sell it on new cars as a profit center, but it is convenient to pick up your new vehicle with it already done.
My only issue with that would be what % will be used (presumably would have to meet legal requirements in all states) and will it have UV protection and heat rejection?

I would love to see an early and active aftermarket rather than for Scout Motors to spend too much time on accessories. Build in aftermarket-friendly bumper removal and sensor recalibration; build in aftermarket-ready assignable switches and upfitter capabilities so the accessories market can take advantage of the new vehicle and customers can take advantage of a wider market.

Example: if it's possible, make the bumper mount compatible with something like the Bronco or another vehicle that's 80" wide so we can take advantage of the already huge aftermarket of ARB, WARN, etc. Sure, the lines won't be perfectly compatible, but when someone's putting something like that on, they're not trying to perfectly match the style of the vehicle.

Make the bed rails compatible with the various types of bed cap mounting brackets and the bed nicely square so the aftermarket from Leer, A.R.E., SnugTop, etc., can get up to speed quickly, preferably before the vehicle is even on the open market. Similarly, make it match the dimensions of one of the other pickups (if possible) so tonneau covers and racks can be installed without trouble right away.

Publish all the dimensions and specs so it's easy for aftermarket manufacturers to build things quickly.

My $0.00 for what it's worth.

I completely agree. A design that was conceived with the aftermarket and various mods in mind is worth its weight in gold.

I think the importance of an integrated air compressor is understated. It's one of the best tools to have when using a vehicle offroad, if for no other reason that to be able to air your own tires down for better traction and a more comfortable ride on the trail, and back up to street PSI when you're ready to head home. I installed an OBA kit on my old Wrangler, with air compressor mounted to the engine block and driven by v belt pulley, small tank, air manifold etc, and it will air up 35" tires from 8-30 PSI in about 35 seconds per tire. It will also run air tools which is more helpful than most people realize. I also keep a portable compressor in my Grand Cherokee which has made me the hero of the office lol. I'd love to see a robust integrated air compressor option in the Traveler.

I completely agree. I use my onboard air quite often. It’s more versatile than one might at first think. Usually I’m just airing tires back up after an adventure (having this ability is priceless), but over the years I’ve used it for many everyday tasks as well.

I think “robust” is what I would consider to be the key part of your last sentence. Especially when you get into 35 inch or larger tire sizes. My recommendations to Scout Motors would be these:

- Do it well or don’t do it at all. As TreeKiller said, make it robust. Nobody including Scout Motors wants any part of the new Scouts to be a letdown. Remember that many individuals who want the air compressor will likely want 35 inch, 37 inch, or larger tires and those hold a large volume of air. Nobody wants to spend 45 minutes airing back up. Make it stout, please.
- Please don’t tie it exclusively to an air suspension option. I don’t see myself being interested in air suspension, but I certainly am 100% excited about the possibility of not having to figure out my own onboard air system this time around.

Having been out and about yesterday seeing everyone mounting there freshly cut Xmas trees directly on the roof I had a thought:
A custom fit with 4-corner bungee canvas/poly roof tarp that you can attach to roof rails to cover your roof when hauling trees or other misc items that could potentially scratch roof. Make it dark gray with orange straps and a Scout logo.

My only $0.02 are not wanting to look like a doofus driving around the city with extraneous stuff that I don’t need that very obviously looks like stuff I don’t immediately need. Things that are designed to look like they belong anywhere is my preference for accessories. Not everyone lives in the city and has that concern. Nothing has to be concealed necessarily, just look like they all belong in the same space.

Or just leave your Traveler in the garage and take your Terra out to grab your Christmas tree 😉🤣

Love seeing an old vintage 4x4 with a Christmas tree mounted on the roof, this is the Holidays!

Hi all,

At the request of the Scout Community, we are looking for feedback on your most requested Scout Traveler and Scout Terra accessories. You can vote for your top five, but our teams will consider anything added to the poll. If you would like us to add more items to the poll, please respond below, and I can add them.
I casted my vote for a roof rack and molded mats. Please consider offering them as thick well made mats. Not the super thin flimsy mats that are offered with most new vehicles. For reference look at the 2023 Bronco molded mats. They are incredibly thin, they don’t stay in place and they look very cheap. Thank you!

My number one request is a front receiver hitch option, they provide so much versatility (e.g. winch; snow plow).

Optional masks/grills/lights for the front and rear. I recognize the regulatory hurdles, but I'd love to be able to choose from different styles when ordering, or buying another after the fact. Kinda like the new Land Cruiser offering two different lighting/grill looks, but make them interchangeable.

I agree with you on this. I remember taking a picture of the mats and thinking they were a nice heavy rubber mat. They also appeared to have the buttons to keep them in place. I saw the buttons in the passenger and rear floors (something my current truck doesn't have, only driver which stinks)
