Working class interior

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
It would be amazing, if you guys offered an interior more for the working class. Like Ford and Chevy did back in the day. Rough, durable and long lasting. Not surrounded by technology that couldn't last through a Montana rain storm.
I can see that as an option for the Terra but at $50k I expect the Traveller to offer something at least this stylish with maybe an option for something even nicer

Everybody says they want an interior they can hose out and think this is cheap and easy to do, but given the necessary number of electronics and other required elements such as airbag controllers, etc - this actually requires a much higher development cost for only a few people who really care for it.

A good set of really durable WeatherTech quality-level, super durable interior protection floor mats, with footwells that are recessed a couple inches to collect / contain mud and dirt would be great.

My $80K Land Rover came with these - as well as leather seats I swear are as thick and durable as elephant skin but soft as buttah - I have no issues treating it as a work truck when I need it to be, but also cleaning up real nice when it's time for a date night with the wife or I need to be in a suit for something.

EDIT - alternatively, offering a "pro grade" or work truck trim level might be a good idea. The rear seats in the Traveler could be deleted and it's a full flat load floor, and the interior is paneled in heavy work-grade materials...

Just like the original Scouts

I asked an heard a lot of things regarding this topic as I myself am interested in such things for my business trucks. I am not at liberty to reveal everything I heard, but Scout 100% understands that is part of their heritage and that there is demand for work trucks.

I like to see the original plaid seats and door panels to give the nostalgic feel and add some texture to the interiors like the original Scouts!
The headliner on the Traveler concept is plaid and the leather option has a plaid design in the perforations. You can see it pretty well with the Terra and its Canyon interior. The pedals also have a plaid design.

I’ve been asking but interiors team is focus on subtle plaid. I said earlier on another thread-kill the off white tread top of seats and change to a tasteful plaid material.

I entered this as a suggestion here:

Fair assessment. I’d have to agree with all of it, well said.

I understand that it costs more, that's why almost no company offers it. It's easier to just put in some fake leather seats and call it "luxury". Your land rover seats wouldn't hold up against sand and salt water. But if they offered it as a "pro" trim and made some good commercials showing the benefits then I think people would pay for it. I 100% would.
