Yeap, I won't buy a vehicle without a HUD now either.I second the need for a HUD! I wouldn't have a vehicle without it!
This comment brought back a nice memory from when I was young. Driving the family Scout 800A out to a remote part of a West Texas ranch on a cold night with no lights anywhere and horizon to horizon views. Then getting out and laying on the hood, which was nicely warm from driving (and that hood was strong enough to lay on it without damage!) and gazing at the millions of bright starts crowding the sky - just as bright and dense at the horizon as they were straight overhead. Truly a "we're on spaceship Earth" moment.I’d like a heated hood so snow melts rather than building up.
Having a trailer/RV camera rearview integrated would be really nice. Though even just the existing mounting bar on top of the dash is a serious upgrade to the current situation for me.Apple CarPlay, Camera Rearview, Complimentary installation of the home charging station (I think Ford is doing this now, or they were a few months ago), solar roof to aid in charging would be huge.
I'll go one step further than you: without CarPlay, I will not buy a Scout. I'm currently on a lease for a Nissan Ariya - and the only reason is that the vehicle I really wanted, the Rivian R1S, does not support CarPlay. Like Tesla, Rivian has decided they want to milk their customers for more services revenue by locking down their infotainment system. Their explanations, of course, don't say that. Rivian's CEO couches it as "Rivian thinks they can provide the best possible experience for their customers" - completely ignoring the fact that there's nothing preventing them from providing the best possible experience - if the customer agrees, nobody will use the CarPlay feature in a Rivian (or Tesla)! But the fact of the matter is that what Rivian thinks is the "best possible experience" doesn't necessarily match its customers needs. What if I don't want Rivian to download all my contacts and other private information - just so its voice assistant can more easily navigate me to a contact's address? I've already placed my "security/privacy" bet on Apple - I don't want to run the risk of Rivian getting its servers hacked and getting to that info!CarPlay (with option for the new CarPlay) and Android Auto support.
These phone integrations give users choice and support thousands of apps some of which are made by individuals and small teams. Scout says that “community” is important. Supporting CarPlay means supporting small app development businesses and users that use niche apps.
Scout will have both. If you watch UX videos from CES, you can see Carplay on the screen.I'll go one step further than you: without CarPlay, I will not buy a Scout. Anyway, Scout, provide CarPlay/Android Auto and give your customer *CHOICE*. Don't try to make extra revenues by selling your customers the same features their phones already have.
SM has already stated CarPlay. Why is this still being debated???I'll go one step further than you: without CarPlay, I will not buy a Scout. There are new members here every day. This place is great but can be hard to navigate at first. This is going to keep happening for the next two years. Perhaps update the FAQ pages more often (the traveler page is 3 pages of questions) and make them easy to find on the main page? Or have a general FAQ with questions that apply to both models? We are all enthusiastic about Scout. Let's figure out the best way to keep everyone engaged and involved.SM has already stated CarPlay. Why is this still being debated???
I don’t camp but love that idea. Also wonder in a foil lining in the rear seat could be layered to help keep heat in when you are campingHeated windshield and mirrors for certain. I’d love to see a heated seat back option for the rear seats. For the times I’m car camping and want to toast myself up a bit when the sears and folded down. They should activate on a separate circuit from the heated seat cushions.
I think we need a bigger and more obvious search bar also. People aren't being encouraged to search and see if what they are going to request has already been discussed. And when they come in hot and borderline angry about it, it can be bothersome. All they had to do was search and they wouldn't be upset, we wouldn't be upset - all would be good. J Alynn doesn't work for them so he's not paid to be that patient - he's just a good guyThere are new members here every day. This place is great but can be hard to navigate at first. Thanks man. I try my my best but your statement puts my feelings into wordsI think we need a bigger and more obvious search bar also.
