What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Trick tailgate is a must for me. The Terra should have a tailgate that swings out in some fashion as well as dropping in the conventional way like the Honda Ridgeline. We have a 2020 Ram Laramie with the multi-function tailgate, rear fold out step and a box cap. This works great for us. Our truck has a front bench seat and a good combination of tactile controls with the 8" screen. The soon to be released Ramcharger may be the Terra's biggest competitor.

A foldable solar tonneau cover. I feel most people that have EVs live in an area with lots of sun. Even if this generates only a miles of range a day that would offset some of peoples commute requiring finding a charging station less often.

No matter what they do...they have to give us the ability to shut off ALL smarty pants junk that has the truck driving us instead of us driving the truck/SUV!

Push button ability to disable all of it...crash, lane departure, on and on...I still like to be in complete control of my driving experience and I DO NOT want the truck driving me down the highway or gravel road!!! Please don't screw this part up.
I agree. I live in the mountains where snow covered roads cause driver assist features like lane assist make the vehicle make scary sudden movements. My Jeep Grand Cherokee L allows me to turn that all off with a button on the dash.

Yeah some quick access toggle too, not burried in system settings. My wife's Palisade has a physical button for it so quick and easy to enable or disable lane assist.

Some solar recharge capability would improve efficiency of the design, for both versions. Solar panels on top or on the hood, or both, would provide a slow recharge while the vehicle isn't in use but not under covered storage--camping, farming, parking lot, etc. As solar panels become more efficient, this will become a more significant feature for the vehicles. On the truck version, people who attache a truck-bed camper will appreciate any additional charging capability.

One thing to keep in mind is that many of the trucks on the market today are approaching or have exceeded $100K because of all the possible add-ons that have been included. I would rather have a reasonably priced truck I can depend on than any of the newest gadgetry and farkles we can make up. A good cabin heater and excellent four wheel drive will go a long way toward an exceptional camping or hunting experience.

Heated washer jets for cleaning headlights, cameras, and safety sensors. This would be a huge help in the winter when those things get covered in snow and road salt.

I know heated windshield washer jets are pretty standard, but for some reason only a handful of vehicles offer heated washer jets for the headlights.

Just a thought/opinion, but headlights, cameras, and safety sensors should be able to be cleaned from inside the vehicle.

100% agree but how much does that add in cost? In PA I would like that but does a daily driver in Arizona need it? Thinking it should be part of a cold weather package as it makes the most sense. Even in PA I would debate the value depending on the cost. I get in the heavy north where winter is brutal it seems like a no brainer and should be an option. Just wonder if the southern half of the U.S. would see a valid need. I think it’s a great option-it has me pondering if available if I would pay-hmmmmm!

I'm sure it has been posted already but quick search didn't pull up anything. But....

Startup Light Animations!
I'm a sucker for an elaborate startup light scene. The flashier the better.
But I whole heartedly admit even I would get tired of it. So having a config option to choose your startup light animation from full look at me mode to just to nothing would be awesome.

After the CES show I was digging the style of the roof rack on the Traveler, integrated satellite is pretty sweet for us full remote folks.

However, please make it able to hack a roof top tent with an awesome static capacity (hoping for 700-800lbs+) Dynamic is fine at the 165, lots of tents have their materials on point now so the tent weight itself isn’t an issue but the static is what gets me (at 280lbs).

Bronco let me down with 600lbs for their factory rails because by the time you have me and most tents it only leaves 150lbs left, and I need my wife, dog and other gear up there too! Aftermarket usually steps up, but I’d just equip it from factory if it meets the need spec-wise!

Also a bumper capable of mounting a winch (eyeing those aux switches to wire it). Preferably not just slapped on like Jeep does with the Wrangler, I prefer the more integrated ones if there is room.

Also would add haptic vibration in the steering wheel for lane departure or other warnings. I drove a BMW X3 that had this and initially I thought it was going to be terrible but it was amazing, I raved about it the whole trip, less things beeping and yelling but I could clearly feel it.

Convenient that it also doesn’t announce to all my passengers when I get close to the lines lol

Massaging, heated, and cooled driver and front passenger seats. I'm coming from a BMW X5 and massaging seats are a game changer for long road trips, which is what I intend to use the Traveler + Harvester for.

I'd like to hear Estimated mileage EV only on the extended range Scout.
Auto rags and YouTube channels are all over the map with guesses, and I have a feeling it'll be much more than they predict. Way, way more.

It spoils you. You really realize how good it is when you drive a vehicle that doesn't have it.

Strange that you're getting guesses about this all over the place.

Its been repeatedly said, by Scout, publicly.

150 miles EV only range. Another 350 miles via range extender.

I know... and I'm BEYOND thrilled with 500 mile range in a full size SUV. I just checked the 2024 Tahoe (gasser) and it gets 17mpg with a 24 gallon tank for 408 miles of range.

I will be able to go farther on the first tank in the Scout, and almost as long on an extended trip between gas stops! That's absolutely phenomenal.

There are some comfort creatures that I have grown to love in current cars.

Adaptable headlights, rain sensing wipers, heated and ventilated seats.

But one feature I love is simply being able to walk away from the car and it automatically locking.

What feature would you like to see?
IMO Heads up Display is the best safety feature as it keeps the drivers eyes on the road and not looking sideways to the center screen.

Apple car play is a must for my wife so she can play various apps and use cars sound while I drive.

I like ability to lock lockers on trail unlike most vehicles I've had. Bronco has this feature and hoping Scout will too.

I want heated back only so 2 buttons for heat, both and just back, Some GM's had this and I miss it.
