What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
One thing that has always fascinated me with Tesla's us the use of LIDAR and object representation on the in dash display.

For me it's the safety aspect, from my understanding LIDAR is really not affected by fog and maybe rain and more so by snow.

But for those Blizzard moments or caught in heavy fog. Having lidar help give you a some kind of additional resource would be cool.

FWIW, Tesla stopped using LIDAR in 2021 (2022 for the X and S apparently).

So if you've got an older Tesla, then yes, LIDAR, but for anything newer, its camera only.

I think they just used radar rather than LIDAR in those cars. Although I believe even some of the cars that had radar have that feature disabled now to use vision. I believe some of the cars that had radar have it disabled now to use vision only.

It would be great if the intermittent wiper frequency mimics mid-2000ms VW. Nothing worse than a bad rhythm to the wipers up here in WA.
Having gotten a solid windshield coating of snow today at work is there a way (or does any other EV) offer a winter mode that can be turned on when you park on a day when snow is called for and if the camera senses a certain opacity it turns on the windshield defrost for 5-10 minutes to keep snow from building up. Maybe wipers run once every couple of minutes as well. Might as well add the rear window as well.
Would be nice to come out from work and have a windshield clear and dry

I like that idea, but with the differing snow packs (% of moisture content) and differing winter lows across the country, I'm not sure how universal that solution would be.

Ability to flip the front bucket seats in Terra Truck into a bed or a flat platform. That way, a couple of adults could sleep in it comfortably without setting a tent, etc. Ability to open the Moonroof inside Terra Truck. Couple of speakers inside the front trunk connected to the car stereo to listen to music when front trunk is open. Plug and play auxiliary buttons (trail lights, winch). Front Camera. Storage inside truck cabin, maybe under rear seats (tools, accessories).
I like this idea. I’m thinking that a front bench seat in a traveler should be made capable of folding flat and aligning to rear fold flat seats. In essence, it would form a slightly narrow queen size bed (or oversized double). With the funk and rear, you would have enough room for luggage, a cooler, and possibly an electric cooking appliance. You would need a way to level out the vehicle as well. This would be the ultimate 1-2 person surf / camping mobile.

I see a lot of great features already but being I have a trailer I'd really like software around that and actual statistics around it. Calculates weight being towed and range. This with the generator hoping will allow the scout to outdo others on towing too. Towing always seems iffy with electric. So publish the numbers too.

I like all extras I have in my jeep gladiator. A purist would say what for? So I think it's key as someone else mention to be able to go purist or nerd out with gadgets like me. I will always want all power conviences, adaptive cruise, cameras and now that I have heated seats and steering I'll never go back. lol. I believe app integration is critical but shouldn't be needed for the vehicle for people that don't want to use it. I don't blame anyone that doesn't want the security risk.

Trying to think of every thing that I’ve ever wished for in the winter now that we’re here.

I want to get road salt off of the body and undercarriage as quickly as possible because I live in an urban area where the city doesn’t care about preserving your car’s new brake job, nor do they care that your car might need body work. Planes have de-icers. Can cars have de-icers? I want a portable de-icer. If there is a coating or treatment that can be applied to the body that prevents ice buildup, I want it. If I have to come in annually to have it done, fine. Lovely. I will do that. There were some materials scientists at my old job that came up with a coating for bottles to prevent ketchup from sticking to the inside. I have no idea if this is applicable to cold/automotive surfaces, but if it is, holy crap, I want that. 😳 I hate winter and I dually hate how the city kind of seems to take anti-car tactics to an extreme by going out of their way to wreck your car if you’re a street parker. 😤 Yeesh, city of Boston, sorry I’m not rich enough to own a home with a two-car garage made for the 21st century. Sorry it was made for the last century and has an incredibly impractical narrow driveway that only a supernatural creature with a 360 degree swiveling neck could navigate. Drives me absolutely insane.

Also, I want other drivers to hear me swear at them without rolling down my window. I want a public address system. Sure I’ll get a license for it from my locality as far as you know.

Others have already mentioned this, but the #1 feature (that I think hasn't been confirmed yet?) that would make or break my purchasing a Traveler is fold rear seats that would be level with the trunk space and could then form a perfect sleeping space for a couple of adults. This is going to be the perfect camp-in vehicle, with camp/sleep modes, etc. I'm assuming that this would be a feature that won't possibly be left out of these vehicles, but posting it here anyway just in case.

I agree not having level fold down seats, would be a big miss in this segment.

The new video posted on the forum from CES had Mr Conner stating the rear seats will fold flat. That’s the first I’ve heard that and don’t know if he heard that officially but it was said in the video as I’m surprised that came up at CES

We will use our Traveler primarily for towing a travel trailer. I trust there will be an integrated brake controller. I really like the way Rivian put the manual brake button on the steering wheel, multi-tasking the thumb wheel when in tow mode. This is a huge improvement in safety and effectiveness. I'm guessing that you've already done this, given Rivian's example and Scout's design philosophy plus thoroughness.

My request is a simple one. I want an expandable hitch mounted bike rack that fits with the spare on the back of the Traveler.

If you want to keep everything North American, team up with 1Up to develope it. Kuat also makes great, robust products as well.
