One thing that has always fascinated me with Tesla's us the use of LIDAR and object representation on the in dash display.
For me it's the safety aspect, from my understanding LIDAR is really not affected by fog and maybe rain and more so by snow.
But for those Blizzard moments or caught in heavy fog. Having lidar help give you a some kind of additional resource would be cool.
I think they just used radar rather than LIDAR in those cars. Although I believe even some of the cars that had radar have that feature disabled now to use vision. I believe some of the cars that had radar have it disabled now to use vision only.FWIW, Tesla stopped using LIDAR in 2021 (2022 for the X and S apparently).
So if you've got an older Tesla, then yes, LIDAR, but for anything newer, its camera only.
Having gotten a solid windshield coating of snow today at work is there a way (or does any other EV) offer a winter mode that can be turned on when you park on a day when snow is called for and if the camera senses a certain opacity it turns on the windshield defrost for 5-10 minutes to keep snow from building up. Maybe wipers run once every couple of minutes as well. Might as well add the rear window as well.It would be great if the intermittent wiper frequency mimics mid-2000ms VW. Nothing worse than a bad rhythm to the wipers up here in WA.
I like that idea, but with the differing snow packs (% of moisture content) and differing winter lows across the country, I'm not sure how universal that solution would be.Having gotten a solid windshield coating of snow today at work is there a way (or does any other EV) offer a winter mode that can be turned on when you park on a day when snow is called for and if the camera senses a certain opacity it turns on the windshield defrost for 5-10 minutes to keep snow from building up. Would be nice to come out from work and have a windshield clear and dry

I like this idea. I’m thinking that a front bench seat in a traveler should be made capable of folding flat and aligning to rear fold flat seats. In essence, it would form a slightly narrow queen size bed (or oversized double). With the funk and rear, you would have enough room for luggage, a cooler, and possibly an electric cooking appliance. You would need a way to level out the vehicle as well. This would be the ultimate 1-2 person surf / camping mobile.Ability to flip the front bucket seats in Terra Truck into a bed or a flat platform. That way, a couple of adults could sleep in it comfortably without setting a tent, etc. Ability to open the Moonroof inside Terra Truck. Couple of speakers inside the front trunk connected to the car stereo to listen to music when front trunk is open. Plug and play auxiliary buttons (trail lights, winch). Front Camera. Storage inside truck cabin, maybe under rear seats (tools, accessories).
Others have already mentioned this, but the #1 feature (that I think hasn't been confirmed yet?) that would make or break my purchasing a Traveler is fold rear seats that would be level with the trunk space and could then form a perfect sleeping space for a couple of adults. This is going to be the perfect camp-in vehicle, with camp/sleep modes, etc. I'm assuming that this would be a feature that won't possibly be left out of these vehicles, but posting it here anyway just in case.
The new video posted on the forum from CES had Mr Conner stating the rear seats will fold flat. That’s the first I’ve heard that and don’t know if he heard that officially but it was said in the video as I’m surprised that came up at CESOthers have already mentioned this, but the #1 feature (that I think hasn't been confirmed yet?) that would make or break my purchasing a Traveler is fold rear seats that would be level with the trunk space and could then form a perfect sleeping space for a couple of adults.
