What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Heads up display, helps to keep eyes on road. Also something like supercruise for multi-state drives.
I’m by NO means picking on you but I’ve seen it said like 6 times and used to do same thing. It is HEAD up, not plural as only the driver sees it so unless you are a conjoined twin-head should be singular 😀
Again-no aggression at you just thought it was good to educate everyone as I used to say it as plural as well

And I absolutely think this helps with safety and keeping eyes more on road

My only request would be a folding mirror option, some of us still only have 8 ft doors on the garage, i'm sure it could be a useful feature for someone who would off road also.
Absolutely agree. I park in the city and with 8-1/2’ wide spaces the mirrors will be prone to people bumping them or other trucks possibly scraping.

Diesel parking heater ports/turret. Reference my post Diesel heater / range extender
why wouldn't you just run the Scout's heat pump? Why take up space for the diesel heater and all the accutrements?

You're absolutely right, I would use the heat pump most all the time. The parking heater would only be for those needing overnight heating and/or for extreme cold to conserve the Scout's battery. As for the space, it's all about choices when deciding on what is "needed" for your adventure. Again, I would not suggest SM provide a parking heater option, just allow for easy DIY add-on without having to modify the vehicle as many have done with RVs, vans and other vehicles.

UPDATE: I made this update in a different thread but it applies here as well. So for the limited number of people that might explore this option, I thought of a better (cheaper) option. If SM supplied a ~ 6 inch diameter sealed "plate" near the back of the interior which provided a penetration from inside the vehicle to the outside, this would allow DIYers or third party to develop accessories that would replace the seal with whatever... sealed wiring bulkhead, floor drain, diesel heater. I just don't like the idea of cutting into the body myself if ever needing something to go inside to outside or outside to inside. A factory opening would leave it up to the imagination of others.

Has anyone asked for Sirius XM? I did a search, did not find mention of Sirius XM using the term “Sirius XM,” so I’m asking for it. Have been a subscriber for the past 20 years and I like having it.

I used to use it but we use Pandora now but wonder if XM will be the usual 2-3 months free then pay subscription which is great for those who use it

I’m… not an XM radio person. I got three months of free XM radio when I bought our Tucson, and never even attempted to use it. But, it’s fine with me if they include the feature.

Although it’s annoying how high pressure they are with trials. They called me… a lot.

Separate topic.

Has anyone requested/mentioned sunglasses storage? I did a road trip in my ‘97 grand Cherokee just yesterday, and realized it had a feature our Tucson was missing. It had overhead sunglasses storage, and the Tucson does not.

It seems like a small thing… but I actually really find it great. You can put them in a console, but they get buried/lost or scratched. Or they get shoved in a cup holder somewhere.

I didn’t put this in my long requested feature list in the suggestion sub forum but I agree with this. We’ve owned and do own Hondas with this feature (with integrated mirror looking at rear children or grand children) and sunglasses stay cleaner and unbroken and easier to find.

I find this much more useful overhead than a compass, which is in the screen, rear view mirror and easy to figure out by looking at the position of the sun.

I could probably stream music from my phone (and I do sometimes), but I always liked the element of DJs who are long moved on from terrestrial radio with their own shows who have interesting stories to tell about a band or a song. I also like the reliability of satellite. T-Mobile has crapped out in western North Carolina, but the radio hasn’t. It’s less of an issue in 2024, and eventually I will probably cancel it (or they’ll go under), but I still like that I can drive from Boston to Portland, ME listening to nothing but U2 or Ian Christe’s Bloody Roots of Metal and learn about some weird genre of metal (did you know that there’s math metal? I didn’t). My point here is that there is valuable education. Nobody teaches viking metal in college.

This is also quite helpful.

Bright beams switch on the floor—driver’s left foot, instead of on the hand-operated indicators on the steering tree. It would be a fun nod to the past.

Probably illegal now, but I always enjoyed that feature on my old model.
Hmm. 🤔 not sure if it’s illegal but I bet no one does it because it’s a switch that could get wet/muddy, etc. plus cheaper on or part of the stalk.
