Second Scout Teaser Image Released

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debate is welcomed and often produces great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
The front end looks great true to form of the past. In this render is it supposed to look like it has negative camber up front?
My 800's front wheels do the same thing. There's so little a person can do on these old rigs to align the wheels compared to a modern appliance... shims and the tie-rod adjustment is about it. I haven't noticed any irregular tire wear, so something must be right.

Just viewed this video on YouTube which has their own render of the next gen Scout. Thoughts from the cult?

I’m in agreement with IdahoJOAT. Just Meh. Back of the suv has potential. The front screams of the new Honda e car they introduced oversees. Too modern and lacks Vintage appeal
I agree, the rear is not terrible. Not sure where these renders were generated from.

Renders are looking good. So much will change once the designs hit wind tunnel testing though. Unfortunately with EV’s, coefficient of drag is just so important.
With that in mind, to the earlier conversation, I predict independent front and rear suspension. Not a bad thing as even King Of Hammers trucks have been moving that direction. Just easier to deal with drag if you pull as much up into the body as possible.

Also - is that a full front bench I see?

Sadly that roof doesn't look removable...

Overall I like it and think it has a ton of potential.

When do we get more?
I'll take this front-end pic back to the team! ;)

Stay tuned for more, we're still early in the design and development phases, but should have some easter eggs and teasers for you guys in the coming months!

So looking at the image appears to be falling into a 4 door vehicle. It looks to me that there is a divide between front and rear seats. Don’t do it. I know there is an appeal and possible selling point to 4 doors. You need to stay away from 4 doors if you’re going to call it a scout.

That’s why I think a modular grill that can except 3-4 different looks is the way to go. When you build it on line you select the grill you want or at least a base grill then upgrade option to select between a bunch.
Or just OEM grills we as owners can change after the fact.

Totally agree 😁 https://scoutmotors.community.forum/threads/front-end.26/ Love the idea of each owner making it their own.

We are pushing for modularity in the grill. Given how often the Scout grill changed over 20 years (especially during the Scout II generation) you can imagine the discussions with the designers on what direction the front grill should take. Especially when you are talking about trying to bring a brand like Scout into modern times. International was headed in this direction with the mid-80s Scout II (Scout III?):

Basically a full embrace of the popular 1980s quad headlamps that were so common. Illustrations are originals by Larry Niklin and are labeled as April 1980 (I'll post these in a separate Scout history topic). Obviously, it never came to be as the Scout was discontinued. But if it had gone this direction, boy would the conversations be different. :)

So with obvious Scout II influences in our current designs, there are many possible grill options. The three-bar are the most common. Right now, nothing is locked in place.

Love the renders. Love they were still trying to keep the A-pillar wing window. Hope design team is trying to fit that in too 😀
