Multiple Wireless Phone Chargers

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Done with the days of charging cords! Sure this is being discussed already. My input on it would be multiple wireless charging areas. 1 for driver, 1 for passenger and 1 or even two for backseat passengers. Wireless Apple Car Play/Android Auto. Possibly located in an area out of site...helping enforce use of hands free system. One last thought to possibly avoid: on our current vehicle, the backseat USB port can push music (for example) through the radio. It can be nice from time to time for the kids to play thier music. However, it is more times than not a pain when everyone is listening to something, a kid plugs thier phone in to charge, and thier music app starts playing thier music. An on/off function for this, or having to select a device would be better. This wireless charger in the headrest for the backseat passengers would be a plus too...allowing kids to place their phones there to charge and be able to watch Netflix or YouTube for example.

Agreed. I also like that i or the kids can watch Disney + while waiting in the carpool line or at a charging station. Although most charging visits are to short to watch anything!

The wireless Carplay or AA is a no-brainer.

The multiple wireless charging areas is a great idea.

I'd ask though, as I know in Uconnect in our Jeep, that we can go into the setting and disconnect the device. It doesn't stop it from throwing things for a loop for about a minute, but it's possible.

Wondering with an EV if these wireless chargers can always have power to them...even when the vehicle is parked? From time to time I'll have a phone going dead at the end of the day, hop in the truck to go meet the wife for dinner somewhere, and want to leave my phone in the truck to charge. Problem being with modern ICE vehicles they automatically shut off after 10 minutes. It would be nice to not have to worry with this and continue charging phone whenever you run in somewhere. If the phone was forgotten about, it would only be borrowing enough juice to get to a 100% charge anyway.
