Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Saw this (and various other articles about it) earlier today.

Talking with a buddy in the industry at another automotive firm, and we mentioned that with the Scouts coming out towards the end of the next Presidential term (latter half), and with the "normal" proceedure for newly launched EV's to be the high end vehicles first (which likely would be over the $80k cutoff for the tax incentive anyway), coupled with the likely swing in the next election cycle... It might not actually seem as bad as it might look at first glance.

Still not great for Scout.

But maybe "not as bad"?
I would absolutely not bank on the election going one way or the other next time. The only thing that's all but certain is Trump killing the EV tax credit. He proposed it in his 2020 budget, Musk wants it killed to give Tesla an edge over competitors who are still ramping up, and the energy strategy committee is run by the CEO of a major oil company and the governor of a major oil producing state. Sad news for anyone considering a new EV.

Well - I was blessed with opportunity to attend the reveal I had to laugh at this new article. APPARENTLLLLYYY when you’re a senator you get to actually get in and sit in the vehicle 🤣🤣🤣

And another article. While design is subjective and pricing tends to be what rules in decision making-short of the Genesis convertible ($200-300K🤣) I think the Scouts are some of the best looking EV’s on there way to the public

I have serious doubts that several of those will make it to market. I will double down that several of those brands may be out of business or cease operations in the USA before the concepts become reality.

GM Doubles Down on Cutting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Baris Cetinok, GM's senior vice president of software and services says “We have high conviction that this is the right path for us to take to create truly interior experiences for our customers,”

What goes he mean by “truly interior”?
Perhaps he means “truly inferior”? :ROFLMAO:

btw notice his job is “software and services”. The whole objective is to make service revenue for forcing people to pay subscriptions for things their phone already does by not letting them connect their phone. User hostile! I’m so glad Scout promised not to make us the product.

Unless “interior” is the new “experiential,” I’m gonna guess that’s human error?

Why on earth do they think this is a decision that will win the hearts and minds of their customers? For that matter, why does any automaker?

I wonder if he’s the guy responsible for the infotainment system in my 2012 GMC Terrain?🧐 It’s like it was put in as an afterthought and it’s annoyed me to this day 🤨

I don’t have Apple CarPlay so I can’t really speak to it, but I do hope that whatever Scout puts in there is intuitive and not heavily subscription based🤞🏻

Nice to see the Scouts only behind the performance sport car designs. Also, why does the Rivian R3 look like a Yugo? Not the nostalgic look I would have chosen to bring back.

No Hugo the Talking Yugo? Is nobody on the pulse of what cutting-edge humor makes the hearts of Generation X go pitter-patter anymore?!

This is the reason my millennia kid purchased a Ford. Legacy automakers will never compete with Apple or Google on apps and services.
