List Your 10 Favorite Things About the New Scouts

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
  1. All-electric option with decent range
  2. 800 V architecture -- faster charging at EA chargers will be great.
  3. Rugged/offroad capabilities
  4. Frunk--I use it to store all of my emergency gear, all of my tools, and everything that I don't want rattling around in the cabin or out in the weather in the bed of my Lightning. There's still room for groceries, take-out, and a lot of other stuff even with all that.
  5. Tactile controls for HVAC
  6. No dealerships
  7. Body-on-frame construction--read about someone taking their R1T out on the Rubicon and finding some weird wrinkles in the body, likely from the fact that the body isn't separated from the subframe with bushings--twisting of the frame means twisting of the body means sheet metal damage
  8. Lockable differentials
  9. Towing
  10. Hoping for 220 Volt 50A output from an external outlet so I can use it for emergency backup power as with the Lightning.

I'm with you on everything but I wonder about #10. Do you think the perforated seats would be an issue with dust, dirt and mud? I guess if it's an option then a dirt bomb like me would just not opt for it. I do wonder if the needle on the LCD speedometer screen will oscillate around the correct speed? (*grin*)

If it doesn't bounce at least +/- 10 mph, it's not a real Scout.

I tried to come up with a top ten list of favorite things but was only able to come up with two things:
  • Traveler
  • Terra
Okay seriously though here's what I came up with:
  • Off-road oriented: Solid rear axle, lockers, sway bar disconnect, 35s from factory but can fit 37s
  • Scout "swoop" on the rear doors
  • Mod friendly
  • Harvester option
  • Screens, toggles AND buttons!
  • The exterior. All of it. That beautifully boxy design 🤤
  • No dealerships
  • The interior. All of it.
  • Towing capacity
  • Scout's commitment to the community

I get your point. I move to Florida 4 years ago and cooled seats were wonderful in my last rental.
