Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Interesting to see this pivot by Stellantis, cancelling the long-range variant of the RAM REV. The era of gargantuan battery packs to win the range crown didn't last very long.
I don’t think the ram charger is ever making it to the market with stellantis problems

They need to get it to market. I think they will but they have to make sure it's sorted out. That's the kind of vehicle that could bring new customers to their brand, so the refinement and quality need to be perfect.

The Ramcharger was reprioritized and accelerated to be ahead of the REV not that long ago. And now they've cancelled at least one variant of the REV. If anything, given the current trajectory, it seems that the REV is more in danger of never coming to market than the Ramcharger.

This is why I'm not a fan of Ram Trucks and The Ramcharger. Beside that they have horrible quality.

But how many times is it going to be delayed? It really sounds like a money issue and not a trying to make it better quality and more reliable.

As someone who designs and works in the building industry this was a nightmare 4 years ago or whenever it kicked in. Requiring second refrigerators to be on GFCI-kiss your freezer of food good-bye with the right circumstance. The fun one was basement outlets next to sump pumps and people plugging them in sitting on basement floor. 1/2 inch of water, circuit trips, pump stops and basement floods.
Typically, a quality electrician will still wire for you without a permit and you still get quality/safe install WITHOUT the gfci. Some gfci’s make sense and others are just stupid
Common sense should be no GFCI for a charger if inspector sees the charger hard wired to that circuit run but if just plugging into outside outlets will be challenging.

Stellantis Chairman Confirms Ram Midsize Truck

"...Rueters reports the upcoming midsize truck will fall into the brand's multi-energy strategy offering gasoline, PHEV, and EV powertrain options..."

Stellantis has confirmed that Ram will be producing a new mid-size pickup truck, with production set to begin in 2027 at its Belvidere, Illinois factory. The announcement follows previous reports and discussions between the UAW and Stellantis regarding the future of the plant, which had raised concerns about the company's commitments after its closure in early 2023.

Confirmed: Ram's Mid-Size Pickup Is Happening

The UAW says production starts in 2027.

Stellantis commits to restarting Belvidere, building new midsize pickup, rehiring 1,500 workers

Stellantis did not provide a timeline for the Belvidere reopening, though a UAW announcement says Belvidere will build a new midsize truck there starting in 2027.

Volkswagen to make added investments in US, CFO says in Davos

"...The German carmaker plans to bring in range extenders, small combustion engines which charge an EV battery to extend its range, into more of its models, Antlitz said, in an attempt to appeal to customers who are hesitant to make the switch to EVs..."

The technology, which is gaining popularity in China, is already planned for some Scout models.

Nice to see Scout's GC is confident that VW "is not involved in Scout Motors' management or operations" (I badly want that to be true!) but they're in unchartered legal territory. No other major automaker that I know of has gone DTC with a subsidiary. I love DTC but this doesn't pass the smell test.

This one is better anyway-info straight from the horse’s mouth. That said-being SM has said over 100 miles they will send tech to house-who would care. I can leave it in drive and you’ll fix it there? -SOLD! I’ll even make the tech lunch and send him off with a pair of road sodas
