I'd be up for the fly in and cross country return trip!
Yes. Scott Keogh personally told me that is being worked out along with driving on their test loop.I'm curious whether factory deliveries, particularly for early reservation holders, are being considered by Scout. That would be similar to what some folks have been able to do with Rivian, picking up their R1 in Normal and then driving it home.
In my case the round-trip of 14 miles to collect the Terra Harvester that I reserved might be pretty arduous, but I'd be willing to give it the old college try.
I’ve done the BMW delivery and daughter did teen driving school. Both were amazing experiences and I’m sure SM can pull it off as well. I think a portion for fun but also sections with obstacles or opportunities to show capabilities. I mentioned elsewhere but BMW takes everyone out in an x3/x5 as well and really sold me on capabilitiesI came looking for this thread. I live 30 min. from the factory and have connections to several of the contractors that are building the site.
I would love a factory delivery and plant tour option for folks that are local or wish to travel in for it.
BMW up the road does that at their Spartanburg plant. And they offer track or offroad courses to put your model of vehicle through its paces before you take it home. It's a neat program that Scout would be wise to copy. Scout's massive site certainly seems to have the space for some offroad track opportunities, and Blythewood has plenty of green space to accommodate.
I was so disappointed that the BMW facility was closed for remodeling or something when my coupe was delivered, especially since I'm only a few hours away. Hoping Scout does something similar.I’ve done the BMW delivery and daughter did teen driving school. Both were amazing experiences and I’m sure SM can pull it off as well. Very cool……except I hate…..absolutely hate flyingSo update already...
We are working on plans for a Scout Experience Center at our factory in Blythewood, South Carolina. This center will include customer delivery, lounges, an off-road course, and more. It is in the early stages at this point, but we are actively pursuing it.
South Carolina has similar dealer protection laws. Maybe Scout, being based in SC for manufacturing, can be what finally convinces the General Assembly to cut it out with such nonsense.Charlotte, NC here. Would love to do a factory pickup option.
Little concerned about NCs dealer protection laws making the direct purchase from Scout impossible... but I have bought plenty of vehicles in SC.
When I did BMW delivery Iit was PA to SC. I just rented a car. Obviously closer than you but that worked great. Drove the convertible home the whole way back with top down 42 degreesVery cool……except I hate…..absolutely hate flying
Hopefully you will have some kind of trade in deal, we would drive out in one vehicle & drive a new one home. What better way to learn your new vehicle than a 1900 mile drive
I'm a huge fan of this. I know Porsche, Chevy Corvette, and Volvo have it where you get to travel and tour the factory and ride your car around the city is was produced. This would be an awesome feature and something I think would help Scout stand out as a manufacture.I'm curious whether factory deliveries, particularly for early reservation holders, are being considered by Scout. Thoughts on this? This is something we are actively exploring. Short answer is very likely.

There is some part of me that felt as if the launch of the Scout brand was Volkswagen essentially trying to start over in America after far too many years failing to offer products that Americans actually want. Hope it happens because I'm all for it.
I don't know who "The Autopian" has as a source but they've had the most in depth articles I've seen.Thoughts on this?
