Wheel Options

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Offer multiple wheel and tire options in various styles and sizes. Consider offering classic steel and chrome wheel options. Do not tie wheel and tire choices to specific trims and packages, allowing buyers the ability to further customize how they want the vehicle to look.

If there are big size difference, it won't just be wheels and tires, as it has other implications, for suspension, body, spare carrier, speed calibration, and even the jack. So I expect perhaps a base 32" or 33" setup. With Optional 35", and maybe even optional 37". Each size change may result in other changes.

Here is the Jeep 35" package:

    XTREME 35-Inch Tire Package
    $4,495
    17-Inch x 8.0-Inch Machined Wheels w/ Black Pockets
    35-Inch Tire Suspension
    4.56 Rear Axle Ratio
    97-MPH Vehicle Max-Speed Calibration
    Performance Anti-Lock 4-Wheel Disc Brakes
    GVW Rating - 6,250 Pounds
    Injection Molded Black Rear Bumper
    LT315/70R17C 113/110S Tires
    Mold-In-Color Rubicon Highline Flare
    Hinge-Gate Reinforcement by Mopar®
    Jack Spacer by Mopar®
    Tire Relocation Kit by Mopar®
    Wheel Flare Extensions

That's the minimum. Ford ties their 35" tires with the off road "Sasquatch" package that cost >$8000 depending on where you start.

Thanks and good point! I guess I would revise to just say "give options for customization and don't tie them all to packages". It seems like these days you get a standard wheel and then one option which ends up tied to a few thousand dollar package. Would be nice if there was more than one option in the same size/class.

Innov8 smooth lip wheel in clear powder coat and 37” Micky Thompson Baja Boss All Terrain 3PMS tire please 😁😁

Ford F250 Tremor package was not even $3k and it comes with 35” Goodyear DuraTrac’s (no longer 3PMS)

Have not looked the last couple years, so I’m sure it’s increased in price but not close to 8k

What you noted is exactly what was talked about at the reveal when we attended.

My LJ required a user changeable gear to re-calibrate its speedometer - $15. Our newer JL I think does it digitally. With ICE vehicles, transmission gearing is a bigger issue - but I think given the torque of the electric motors - this will be less important. Suspension changes and body changes are really only necessary if you exceed what fits. Factory options generally do not do that (abet, it has been done with packages - go get factory tires of a certain size, you have to get packages that change gearing, add flairs, add a factory lift - etc...

I bet the 33's don't compliment both as well as the 35's did during the reveal.

The more I research, those tires seem pretty solid. I’m liking what I’m seeing from the Baja Boss line. The M/T is highly likely to be my next set of tires.

Have been running the MT/AT’s going on 2 years & so far am extremely impressed, was a die hard BFG fan and it took me forever to actually try Micky Thompson tires.have beat the crap out of them & even taken a 1880’s brutal wagon trail across some extremely remote country without ever blinking

Looked at mud terrain but they are horrible in the winter on icy roads so I went with the hybrid AT as they are winter rated & so far have not been disappointedw

Awesome!! I’m so glad to hear your real-world experience. The Baja Boss tires look great too. The A/T is on my short list as well, heavily considering it. I end up seeing much more rock, sandstone, and volcanic rock throughout the year versus snow and ice (still see that too, just not as much) so I’m still trying to decide and doing lots of research because in the sizes I’m considering tires are a big investment for me. I’m still looking pretty hard at all of the hybrid tires that are now on the market (the in-between AT and MT tires). How’s your treadwear? Getting decent life out of them?

Really don’t pay attention to treadwear since I’m running a Carli E Venture, did the chalk test but it rode harsh, dropped to 40/35psi and have a much improved ride

Had them balanced and rotated at discount tire & they said tread was really good (did not pay attention to numbers)

I figure to get 3-4 winters out of them max

I really like this idea! I'm a big fan of classic looking rims. Good idea about tire sizes as well but would there be challenges with the odometer? Haven't really thought about how modern cars gather this data.
