What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Here’s an idea I don’t think anyone’s mentioned. My car has power seats - adjustable in a zillion different ways. It’s so adjustable it can actually be hard to find a good setup…till I discovered this feature: if you adjust the distance to the pedals to be good for you, then depress the correct button, it guesses your dimensions sets up the car appropriately. The seats go through this circus as all the settings are adjusted, and all the mirrors are adjusted too. You have to be holding the button down the whole time, presumably for safety. Even if you don’t think the final position is perfect, it’s a good starting point tailored just for you. Very
Adding one more item to my wishlist, LARGE seat bolsters. Hear me out, the bolsters on my Jeep GC Trailhawk are what I’m use to. But the bolsters in the MRS Alfa Romeo are by far the best seats I’ve sit in.

I hoping there’s an upgraded seat option that keeps you planted.
funny. I have hip issues so heavy bolstering actually causes pain. I’m hoping for supportive but relatively flat as this won’t be a sports car. My TLX type S was a good balance of the two

Posted some of these on another forum:

Android Auto (or Car Play) - love having always up-to-date maps and traffic, as well as my choice of music apps on my phone.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Heated Steering Wheel
Rain Sensing wipers
Auto headlights/auto high beam

Pro Power Onboard equivalent - looks like they have something similar, but it will be curious to see how it compares to the 7.2kw Ford offers, and if the generator can help power this like the Ford when the truck is "off", esp during long workloads or powering a house during extended power outages, or to power a camper when boondocking - want it to allow harvester to basically turn the truck into a mobile generator as long as I have gas. I do like that there are outlets both inside and outside the bed - being able to have a bed secured (with a cover) and still use those outlets is pretty cool. Hoping it will be a pure sine wave vs modified sine wave inverter. If it's *only* an inverter off the battery and harvester isn't part of the equation, that would severely limit it's usefulness.

Tailgate Features:
- tailgate step for getting in and out of the bed (though steps molded into the corner of the bumper would be an acceptable alternative, or mount points for something like an aftermarket AMP retractable corner step)
- Openings for clamps, molded in ruler, cup/phone holder, etc to make it a more usable workspace. I think Scout is positioned more as an offroader than a worksite truck, but why can't we have both?
- Tailgate down reverse camera
- Lighting for hooking up a trailer in the dark

Power running boards
360 cameras
Bed lighting

Tow Mirrors (Terra) - not sure if I would prefer larger mirrors like on my F150, or some way that the regular mirrors can extend out for towing.

"Drive Modes", like a lot of other cars have. Something like this:
- "Eco mode" - turn off harvester, limit max speed/acceleration, lower suspension (if that's available), etc to maximize EV range
- "Normal mode" - the already stated 150 miles of EV range, then harvester kicks in for additional 350 miles
- "Max Range/Tow mode" - harvester always runs to continuously charge/reduce battery consumption (if I can extend the range with multiple gas fillups before the battery needs a rechange for long/remote trips, esp while towing, that would be ideal)
- "Charge mode" - park it but let Harvester run to charge the battery
- etc
I think-from a design only standpoint a drop style tailgate step would be ideal. Moulding them into the bumpers, IMO will really ruin the clean look. I think steps are valid and very useful but just hope it’s a factory option so those not needing it don’t lose the great styling. I know the terra needs to be functional but I think there are multiple ways to accomplish it. As a function molded is a great solution but I’ve yet to see it look good on the rear of any pick-up offering them

Was out with the kids + a friend this morning and was thinking about a feature in my wife's car that's really helpful in a pinch. Integrated booster seat in the 2nd row. We may be sized out of it by the time the Scout hits the market but I know others may enjoy it.

Removable solid hardtop. The cabana roof looks great but is impractical.
My brother in Scout,
I beseech you to please do a search for “removable solid hardtop” or “removable roof” and you’ll see that this has been covered a lot. You will find out why that this is not going to happen.

Short answer: It’s too heavy and there are too many electronics to make this feasible.
Long answers: please use the search function.

Go forth in peace.

Two analogue must-have features:

1. Sturdy & many cup holders. I looked at a Rivian. The cupholders are plastic and felt flimsy. I’ll be damned if I’m going to pay 90K for a vehicle with cheap cupholders. They should be made of stone at that price. And there were only 2 in the front seat. Long drives mean more than one drink per person with a mug full of water + whatever coffee, sodas, etc. we buy along the way.

2. Fold flat rear seats so the pooch has a flat place to sit & max loading of boxes without creasing the seats. The dog goes with us nearly everywhere. Having a flat surface with no gaps between front and rear seats makes a world of difference. My RAM 1500 does this right. Bonus points for a washable seat cover for dogs as an accessory.

Coded door locks!
This is one feature on my Ford F-150 that I absolutely love. I play a lot... surf, foil, windsurf, hockey, etc... I love leaving my keys in the truck instead of hiding it somewhere. I wonder if Ford has a patent on this as they are the only ones doing it but it's such a great feature.

Noted in other posts.
I'd need a 6.5 foot bed, but, my preference is just an extra cab, not the crew cab. If this is going to be marketed as a full size truck, how do they only do 5 foot bed and crew cabs?
Opening sunroof. I was shocked to hear that the glass roof may not open? This might be my deal breaker to wait a year or 2 before they release that.
If it only has a 5 foot bed, it needs to be able to have roof racks, which is a bummer.

Cowboy hat holder.

I've always wanted a proper power terminal in the back of the vehicle. Not some 1 amp Aux Switch, a proper terminal I can run 4g off of. Sound systems, rear winches, compressors etc

The worst part of any vehicle modification is running real power to the back

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but does anyone know if there’s a power port up by that dash rail? The Bronco has the ability to get power ports up on the dash, for example. Seems like a rail and power ports together would be a good idea, but I haven’t noticed any ports in pictures or video from the reveal. I haven’t found any mention of it here either, but I may have just missed where it was discussed.
This is a great feature idea that Scout Motors needs to consider so cords are not dangling down the dash.

I work in tech, and did an internship at an ISOC (Internet Security Operations Center), where we actively monitored for cyberattacks/breaches.

I've been jaded ever since.

I don't use certain services, apps, games, etc all because of privacy policies. I don't give out personal information unless I actually have to (my dentist one time tried to get my social security number, and I asked why, and they said "no idea actually, its just been on the forum for forever, we don't actually use it"...).

Also, anything that requires email confirmation... is assuming that emails have 100% availability (which I can assure you, they do not).

So yeah, key please :). Although, as a non-wallet carrying person (phone with a card-carrying case), I'd also totally be ok with a card-key option).
The card option so you can put it in between your phone and phone case would be a good option.
