What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

    So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

There are some comfort creatures that I have grown to love in current cars.

Adaptable headlights, rain sensing wipers, heated and ventilated seats.

But one feature I love is simply being able to walk away from the car and it automatically locking.

What feature would you like to see?

There are several threads already with pages of feedback. You may want to explore and see what else you’ll realize you wanted 🤣. Lots of ideas of things I never thought much of then thought-WOW-that’s a great idea

Some implementation of matrix headlights would be very nice. One of the things I most miss from the CTS-V coupe that I drove for many years was the headlights pivoting based on steering angle. That ability to see better into a curve saved me from more than one deer stike...afforded just enough extra reaction time to aggressively brake.

Agreed. Such a cool and helpful feature. Also a low speed cornering lamp.

awesome feature! my wife's Audi does that and it really does make a big difference - especially out in the country where street lights aren't a thing.

They are a great feature but VERY expensive to fix when they break. I go back and forth. Had a car years ago that had a light on edge of headlight cluster that would light with turn signal and it was great. Do t recall which car. Achieved similar effect without eventual repair costs

I think my VW headlights are 1200 each - and I have had 2 broken so far. HID is king of headlights - point source, no spill. Plus the mechanical low beam cutoff - perfect cutoff line, no spill. Plus the adaptive headlights that are tied to steering. Only thing it is really missing is auto low beam (it was before it's time).

There are almost too many unmentioned features to count yet. Folding rear seats (preferably flat_, fold forward front seats), fold down console on the bench seat (especially if tailgate to front seats is not 6'), full driving assist features (a laundry list in and of itself), proximity entry, camping/pet modes, rear camera - those are essentially my must haves. Wireless airplay would be very much appreciated, as well as 360 cameras and a front camera. Solid roof, preferably insulated and reinforced - I really don't want an easy bake oven of glass. Option of a quality roof rack (not a OEM, but from a major roof rack manufacturer), KC light bar?

Other things that probably would not change my buying decision, but might be nice. Cell phone/smart watch key, HUD. Mini Starlink, Cargo shelf that can extend over folded seats for sleeping (will build one myself if it is not offered). Removable rear seats (can gain a lot of storage space under the cargo shelf). Dash camera with recorder (could just as soon add multiple recorders - I have been keyed by assholes before). Offroad bumpers with integrated front winch. 1" more lift (lift package could be an option maybe?
---
I am curious what all the 18" of buttons control. Knowing more could help sell the wide display to me - as it is, I don't see the benefit, and would almost want a smaller display (especially if a HUD could be used for heads up info).
---
Now if I really want to dream - heritage edition with round headlights, 2 tone paint scheme, pinstrips. I could be mistaken, but every original scout had round headlights. Saw a heritage edition Bronco this evening - it was a nice difference. Probably also simply the rear tire carrier too.

Pet mode is in. They had it on the truck at after reveal event but didn’t show at reveal. Designer said they have set up so you can upload your pet’s photo.
I’m sure 360 and cameras will all be in. Anything mainstream in competitors will be in or available upgrade.
Will be no heritage at this point. They stressed evolution of design not throwback (was originally disappointed until I was standing in front of the vehicles-they look SO good). There is a rail on the dash top to add go pros, cameras, etc…
They are going to have a slew of accessories. I got the impression they want out the door flexibility so you get it as you want and they get the accessory sale-which is great so long as accessories are solid build and look good and work practically

I'd love true modern matrix headlights (the megapixel type). I'm older and drive on dark country roads every day. Being able to basically keep the brights on while they create a dark hole for the oncoming car so they don't get blinded would be a huge safety plus. There's a good pair in Audi's (VW's) part bin, but I don't know if they have that in mind.

I believe right now DOT is still not onboard, if I recall reading that correctly somewhere. Would be great though and they certainly have access to it under the VWAG umbrella

VW is REALLY GOOD with the split panoramic sunroofs. They are quiet, open and shut smoothly and, in my experience, NEVER LEAK.

I'd love to see a VW Atlas / Touareg (my current ride) styled glass option. Must open!

I haven't been tracking the ongoing legal side. I recall reading some time ago that they are now technically legal, but some guidelines needed to be written for evaluating and approving vendor designs. And they were not just adopting the European standards, so vendors would need to put some time and money into meeting the new guidelines. That was some time ago. Not sure how much progress, if any, has been made.

I wonder if the Scout headlight styling is being done in a way that matrix lights could be installed when they are approved.

Re-posting this here, because I really want the Scout Engineering Team to see it.

Video security system, a-la Tesla’s Sentry Mode and Rivian’s Gear Guard. Make it an option, and I believe that it will be popular.

ONE of the (many) reasons that I walked away from my Lucid deposit was their lack of the availability of such a system in a "premium" vehicle.

With all of the cameras that are used in today's vehicles, this should be feasible.

CarPlay (with option for the new CarPlay) and Android Auto support.

These phone integrations give users choice and support thousands of apps some of which are made by individuals and small teams. Scout says that “community” is important. Supporting CarPlay means supporting small app development businesses and users that use niche apps.

They are onboard, they just have requirements that ROW matrix headlight developers can't meet. Because NHTSA lagged Europe and then implemented a set of standards that conflicted with designs ROW manufacturers had already built in, most existing ones don't meet US standards. Canada follows SAE (I think) but because NAS cars are usually designed for both CAN and US markets, they can't even enable them for Canada cars.

So, while I agree that matrix headlights would be great, unless Scout Motors can ride some other automaker's supply chain who is currently working on active matrix headlights that meet NHTSA standards...it's unlikely.

Something I didn't know existed until my last vehicle purchase, dimming exterior mirrors. They help so much with the wild headlights folks have these days.

Aside from that, a solid roof option on the Terra. Everything else looks good to go as is.

Heated and ventilated seats;

Sentry Mode, with the capability to upload video to a cloud service of my choosing while connected to Wi-Fi;

No Keys (Start and Stop the vehicle with a secure connection via a phone)

Ability to move the car forward or back in a straight line via the app (Perfect for getting my current car in and out of my garage);

Android Auto / Apple CarPlay;
