What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
There are some comfort creatures that I have grown to love in current cars.

Adaptable headlights, rain sensing wipers, heated and ventilated seats.

But one feature I love is simply being able to walk away from the car and it automatically locking.

What feature would you like to see?
In 2024 and most certainly in 2027, these features are MUST. My 18 Jeep GC does this today and i personally wont step back. Even my 09 328i does this minus the ventilated seats.

Apologies if already posted, but here are the things that I don’t have in my current 18 Jeep GC Trailhawk that i would love to have in my next purchase.
  1. 360 Camera
  2. Phone as a Key
  3. Fully Integrated CarPlay - across all screens

Things other shared that i have today and wouldn’t consider a new vehicle without
  • Heated & Ventilated Seats
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Adaptive Headlights and High Beams
  • Rain Sensing Wipers

Heated and ventilated seats;

They announced “heated and vented” seats on slide at the event.

I hope they put some sort of sides on the lower storage (easy to push out of the way so you can put things in) so that when the car is bouncing around, nothing bounces under the pedals
I agree. In person the straps were very well done and looked great but I stood there thinking everything will fall out. I’m sure this element will evolve

The refrigerated cool box is a nice idea - but am curious how it will be implemented. I think in theory my glove compartment in my VW is supposed to do that - and I honestly have never noticed or used it as such. I guess cool and cold are very different things. If it is insulated and can keep cans from blowing up during the day in the Texas summer, it could be nice...

Re-posting this here, because I really want the Scout Engineering Team to see it.

Video security system, a-la Tesla’s Sentry Mode and Rivian’s Gear Guard. Make it an option, and I believe that it will be popular.

ONE of the (many) reasons that I walked away from my Lucid deposit was their lack of the availability of such a system in a "premium" vehicle.

With all of the cameras that are used in today's vehicles, this should be feasible.
This, I got rear ended 2 weeks ago, hit and run and did not get the Jeeps plate. Would love having active cameras on my MachE, they are there but do mostly nothing. Nice If I could plug in a USB and record.

Oh, and my new hatch and bumper, $8k minimum. Wish I had that plate so I could possibly avoid the $500 deductible.

Rooftop tie-ins. If they ship with factory roof rails, with four or six attaching points, it would be great to have access plugs cut into the headliner, so that roof racks could be through-bolted from in the cabin.

The lack of this simple, virtually free, bit of engineering was absent on my newer Land Rovers, and having to remove a headliner for such access to the bolts was a massive hassle.

I didn't have the guts to try to look at the rooftop, It was questionable for me to look underneath, security had their eyes on those interested and rightfully so.

270 degree awning option with sidewalls: for all of your camping, hunting, fishing, overlanding, festivaling, or perhaps even transient needs.

Phone/Watch entry or keypad. It is nice to be able to lock up your non-waterproof keyfob in a vehicle occasionally. It is also very nice to be able to just open the door when you are not carrying your keys because you are driving something else - but realized your sun glasses are still in the truck... (and really don't want to waste 5 minutes running into the house to get the truck keys).

It is a couple years away - so hopefully Garmin and Scout can make it work. Love the look of the Apple Ultra - but the Garmin simply works better for me.

I'm guessing it will end up being similar to what's in some Land Rover models. Those use a Peltier cooling plate, and have a moderate amount of insulation. I've found they can keep things pre-chilled cold for a good while, or something frozen from thawing out for a bit (i.e. keeping small container of ice cream from melting for a couple hours on a trip). The downside in ICE vehicles is that since the cooling plate is thermoelectric, they can only be "on" while the engine is running, or they'd too easily drain the 12V battery. In an EV, though, it should not be too huge of a drain on the mega battery pack to keep it cooling for an extended period.

Keypad under the charge cover or on the door and no key start password, I can lock my fob inside the car (esd bag) when I go camping or to the beach. Great feature on MachE.
My Land Rover has an "activity key" - for my model years it's just a ruggedized RFID/NFC wristband, later years more like a smartwatch/Fitbit, I prefer mine as it's indestructible. And yes I've tested that. Unintentionally.

You leave the key in the car, close everything, and hold the fob up against a specific part of the vehicle, and it "super locks" everything, activates an immobilizer and deactivates the key inside the car.

To get back in, you press the trunk release button, hold the band up to the same spot, and it reactivates everything. This is relay-attack proof.

Would love something like this for SM.

Hopefully the new 2028 scout has everything that's available now plus whatever scouts team brings to life. So believe in the unbelievable Scout !!!

@Nate@ScoutMotors @Scott@ScoutMotors -

Did you consider a middle-hinged swing-out spare carrier on the Traveler, such that you could open it in more confined spaces such as when parallel parked? Kind of like opening those old-school closet doors?

If the hinge only swings inward, then the whole swing out will remain rigid when the swing arm is latched closed.

The clamshell rear hatch is great, but it won't do much good if you can't open it without hitting something else.

Alternatively, something like a WILCO Hitchgate Drop, so you can quickly get the spare out of the way in tight spaces:

One thing I’d like to see is a console vault, gives you the option to lock up small valuables when in high crime area & you have to leave them in the vehicle

Helps with those 30 second smash and grab things
YES! Also for states like mine that require firearms to be locked up and out of sight when left in a vehicle. Steel please, maybe with a biometric access or key code.

I'd say 8in long by 5in wide by 6in deep would be a sufficient size, and pry-resistant.
