Summer Reveal

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
It would be cool to have an older Scout II morph into a newer Scout, e.g. Ford did this with the Bronco with their reveal with running with Horses and a cloud of dust with what you could tell was a first gen and then transitioned into the new 6th gen-see image.

I'm sure the marketing team at SM has something interesting up their sleeves if the past videos are any indication. It would be interesting to hear the communities idea or version of how they would handle a reveal commercial.

Had a thought on the national tour you mentioned Jamie (just remember who suggested this 😉)

Recently a guy in Lancaster County rented a new Cyber truck and drove it around towing an Amish buggy. Was a great idea and the whole contrast of electric technology vs Amish simplicity was entertaining. The past few weeks he sent photos (like real, printed photos-it had to cost a fortune) and plugged his business planning company. The irony is he never tied a story to it-just a publicity stunt.

What if forum members from around the country were randomly selected to represent different regions and visually show the Scout in daily activities.
You meet up with them for a weekend or a two-three day period. Day one they get to ride along (or drive if the team is open to that) and you drive their region or maybe the state if you really want to showcase America and learn about their city/town/region see some tourist locations, natural beauty or breweries and wineries etc… and a film crew records the adventure. Then day two your team pre-plans an adventure day based on showing Scout capability and/or “adventure” location say driving on the beach, logging trail, mountainside lake, football tailgating (I’m a PSU alum so I could imagine a tailgate experience) or even driving in LA traffic with a west coast sunset 😀. Then you build the story of the Scout fan, their region and their adventure then post that as part of a year long story series on the community page.
That gets you buyer feedback during real time driving, helps build the community story and helps spread word of mouth from the scout fan as well as the general community that experiences the vehicle during the multi-day experience.
I also think you could bring different exterior colors per region to complement the regions natural environment and then we’d all get to see the colors out in the real world during the lead up to production.
Ford sent a lot of gimmicks leading up to ramping up production of the Bronco and that was cool but I feel like they didn’t retell their story and I think that is a big thing for Scout Motors.
Just a thought.
I volunteer for Boston, MA! I’ll try to get rid of this pesky muscle atrophy, even, so I can maybe do fun outdoor stuff again (unless you want to see me bring my dad’s ashes and the remaining part/s we have from our Scout II to the places we did fun outdoor stuff at).

Since the big reveal is anticipated to happen before the end of summer, the number of weeks to go must now be in the single digits!

I can’t wait!

I think the marketing team will want to generate some anticipation and give the media some time to plan to attend so the date of the event will probably be announced at least a few weeks in advance, probably before the end of August or maybe earlier. Not long to wait now!

A few posts back @Jamie@ScoutMotors dropped a 2025 bombshell that no one picked up on yet. Sure hope he meant only for tour and not reveal.

As far as preproduction mules for a reveal....nothing has been leaked on the www so maybe nothing has seen full light of day yet. I would expect these mules to be built by someone like Magna-Steyr and not at any existing VW plant

Yeah he still says it's a 2024 reveal this late summer, but they'll be running around prototypes in 2025 for tour.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear and edited my original post. I meant touring with the concepts in 2025 and potentially bringing them to Scout enthusiast events.

We will make announcements soon. :D
How can we (active forum members) be assured that we get the announcement notification promptly? I tried following you but don't get notifications when you post. Is there an existing thread that you are guaranteed to post first to?

Lets not do commercials for the 2026 scout and if commercials are being done make it be that we barely see them.Lets keep it be only for people who know the name scout. Same way how Rolls Royce does it. We dont need other people joining our small community.

You do commercials when capacity exceeds demand. I don't think I have seen too many Cybertruck commercials either. Have not seen too many Tesla sales event commercials in general - but they do occasionally have promotions.

Tesla doesn’t do any commercials at all. Since Tesla doesn’t believe in ads, they do it by spread of word and release of new models at the factory and live streaming it on youtube.

I would challenge that your initial buyer group is going to be 50+ demographic and not everyone in the upper age bracket is on social media. Not saying nobody is but that demographic is more of the TV crowd and Facebook crowd and if they don’t know-they can’t purchase. I know a lot of people in their late 20’s/early 30’s and they’ve never heard about it. Enthusiasts know SM is happening but most do not so advertising will be critical early on to get sales rolling or it will quickly die. Not to mention if SM can hold the new EV’s to the mid $50K’s (I’m not convinced it will be even low $50K’s) then it will definitely compete PRICE WISE with main stream ICE trucks and SUV’s like Ford, Toyota and Honda so they will want to hit the younger generations who really care about environment and love authentic products

Im not saying dont dont advertise at all. All im saying is not to over promote it. The old scout buyers were a small community so lets keep it that way.

From the get go Scout buyers, while typically blue collar, were very forward thinking buyers and that too will be the case with the new SM buyers of SM products. Those who are closed minded will miss great opportunities. Old scouts were/are now a close knit group but I suspect the new SM buyers will grow quickly. Hopefully not the dime a dozen Jeepers but something that maintains a following of enthusiasts because of the inherent nature and forward thinking of SM rather than the gotta-have-it open top crowd that just goes with the flow and throws fingers at each other as they pass without even understanding why 😀
Ironically my dad was white collar/management but worked in the farm equipment business so he saw the vision IH/Scout had for their vehicles and got on the bus when the opportunity was there.

Im blue collar and was thinking about getting and old one which I'm still going to do. Im only 23. Now i might get the new one and the old one.

The pointing fingers part is so true thats all jeep people do. Putting rubber ducks on eachothers cars.

Should the new Scout be promoted as a SEV? Being a Sport Electric Vehicle, SM may establish a "new market" just as Scout did in 60-61.
I do like the idea of it though but technically speaking, I don't know if it would work since that kinda market would even happen since that would be more of a sport car industry. While and SUV is a “Sport Utility Vehicle” which is what this would be. If they wanted to they could make it be a SUEV “Sport Utility Electric Vehicle”.

Im a mechanic so ive been in conversation about new markets with the automaker company im with.
