Stunning colors & stripes on Terra / Traveler - previews šŸ˜

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scoutsā„¢. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I haaaaaaaate hate hate hate hate HATE matte finish cars, but if you wanted to do the Rallye stripe thing in gloss over a matte paint job, that would look all kinds of amazing. Itā€™s one of my favorite dramatic flourishes on an expensive book cover (plus it smells good when itā€™s fresh off the press). šŸ˜
I'm with you on matte paint, however on the Terra, it looked incredible. It almost appeared it had some metal flake. As for the Traveler, I'm curious if it was a tri-coat? Brining a paint gauge to the reveal probably would have be frowned upon, I've been banned from Wal-Mart as a adolescent, I'm doing my best not to be banned from SM activities. ;)

Wellā€¦ are you sure thatā€™s a paint gauge youā€™ve got there or is that a glucose monitor because to me that sure does look like a glucose monitor. Or maybe youā€™re planning to write a really exciting book about paint thickness and youā€™re conducting initial research? šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰

I recall one of the designers saying it WAS tri-coat but donā€™t hold me to that

I just want a basic metallic silver color. Cleans up easily, and hides scratches better than any color.
I'm sure we'll get a basic silver. It's the 4th most popular color after white, black, gray. I just hope beyond these basic must-offer colors, we get some fun colorful options.

I still think scout should do a spin on those core 4. White could be vintage cream color, black could be like a dark coffee color, silver could be platinum with a hint of gold or bronze and gray-well maybe just a different tone of gray or use the slate blue gray thatā€™s shown on the Terra. At least this way the base boring colors would be unique on scouts. I think a vintage cream color might look pretty good but still prefer a bolder color or the amazing Tahitian copper/red on the Traveler
