  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
maybe also have the traveler without the tire to show its true size. the spare tire adds 10 or more inches.
Its 207.9in long with it, and 190.9in long without it.

Which means its actually a shocking 17in addition in length.

Maybe I’ll find time to do front comparisons. No promises but I’ll see if I have some time

The front view showing the width would indeed be interesting. IMO, the traveler's impressive width (full size truck width), mixed with its relatively short overall length (way shorter than a Tahoe/etc) means its a pretty uniquely sized vehicle.

The 4 door Bronco is close, but shorter in length, and narrower.

If those are 35" tires, they're likely 12.5" wide. So you've got 4.5" of tire carrier / hardware. Makes sense. I have a number of wheeling buddies who would just take a tire repair kit with a bunch of plugs in it out on trail runs in lieu of a spare. Plugs not going to help much if you have a blowout on the highway though! ;)

This is really helpful for getting a good handle on the size!

I'm pretty sure y'all are already familiar with it, but I really love the website https://www.carsized.com/. That said, it only includes cars that have been released to the public (I think, at least) and the new Scout isn't up there yet.

This comparison definitely scratches that same itch!
I see someone beat me to it. That's a great site.

Here is Traveler vs Bronco (I think Sasquatch based on height which is fair since concept was shown with 35’s)
As usual this is 98% as I’m clipping images and string for fractional inches
The Bronco image had tires slightly unaligned vertically so I split difference on overlay so heights may be a hair closer than this appears as Bronco was a photo perspective and Scout was their CAD 2-D front elevation.
Hope this helps.
I’ll work on other requests over next few weeks

I still think the traveler is a bit over scaled as I look at this. I will revisit

Interesting.

Looks like the fender flares of the Bronco are close to the width of the scout. But the cabin/greenhouse enclosure is much narrower.

Looks like the scout should have a lot more interior space/have a more open feeling greenhouse.

Which makes sense. A bench seat for 3 across requires some width.

The front comparison against Bronco is encouraging. When I compared the numbers between the two, I thought the Travler was going to be super wide. I wonder if ford is measuring from different points than Scout. It’s still a bigger vehicle than I would prefer, but maybe not as bad as I thought

Unsure but when I overlaid I reference official numbers from Ford which for them was out-to-out on mirrors. Traveler was body width. So both are correct proportionally though I feel like the Scout is scaled just a touch larger than it should be
