Scout shows off the UX at CES!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I enjoyed the video and seeing the UX design (albeit I'm sure subject to change) was great. It was nice to see there's a one pedal mode, and I really like the general layout and how you can move different items on the screen between driver and passenger. Also great to see it looks like there will be some form of hands free driving for highways which will be great. I thought the way the speedometer and speed limits were displayed were good too. I like the cameras as well, although curious to see how easy those under body ones will be able to be kept clean.

Agreed, this video is amazing and has doubled down my desire to have a Scout again. Now, if only I could justify the Traveler AND Terra

Love the simplicity of the HVAC she showed on the video. If you look at the Ford Lightning (and other models), does one really need 3 different places to change the air conditioning? Maddening how repetitive it is let alone just adding to the overall cost. Keeping it simple but still well thought out! Love it!

Even more great information from Kyle, at Out of Spec Reviews, especially the UX deeper-dive Nicole shared!

I watched this one last night, and was debating if I should update my post with screenshots just like this.

Thank you for doing that!

They also showcased a few other things (like I saw the Carplay menu item pop up), and on the outdoors mode I saw something called "leveling", which I would assume is self leveling like the R1 series does?

Oh, and heated and ventilated seats were shown both front and back.

There were a few more things like that in there. Worth a watch.

Heated and ventilated seats were noted at the reveal. Same image I posted yesterday about the cooling compartment shows the heat/cool labeled

One function is low volt heating wires and the other is a fan. Guess it’s possible-never seen a car offer that but having fan push air through the heat wires would be interesting.
I think VW actually might offer that (not 100% certain). The combo can be good, for example, if you've been skiing you might be cold but also a little sweaty so the ventilated seats are good for the sweat but the heat also helps keep you warm on your back.

I actually 10000% agree here.

As mentioned elsewhere, I am in the PNW, and ride mountain bikes year round here. In the winter I often end a ride super sweaty (or rainy, or both), in ~35-45f weather. Being able to ventilate, but stay warm, and dry off my back/backside, would be great.

While we're at it, an option for some ventilation in the frunk for all of my gear to dry out and not get "funky in the frunk" would be an interesting addition.

At our ages I just hope the heat goes up the top of the seat back as well. Hard day of work in your Scout earns the right to slide into a heated seat to sooth the lower back and body.
They can dub it “Back and Body works” 🤣
Do you think massage seats may be available on the higher trims? I have it now and it’s pretty nice!

I’ve used them in another vehicle. Never had them personally. I do t know if Scout will go there? Someone else commented about keeping price down but there is a fine line between at $60K you’ve priced a lot of buyers out from the get-go. So now you either option everything as we’ve suggested or you just say throw in the Lux pack because it’s not that much to add but mark ups justify it to the luxury wanna be off road crew. Looks at the Lexus GX. It is legit off road but how many people will ever use it that way. I can see SM keeping low end price right but then offering a $100K decked out lux for the higher end market. You’ve got the Mercedes G wagon as an EV but not many others and I’ll argue all day that the traveler is the best looking SUV I’ve seen in a long time. The wealthy will want it and if it starts at $60K they’ll want to sit above the majority so long story short-massage seats may come along but I think it will depend on the general consumer take rate. I would think the enthusiasts -scout /EV will not be as interested but once it hits mainstream I can see this becoming a luxury vehicle for many buyers. I expect to be around $75K and not loaded out so $100K is an easy expectation

I do not disagree with anything you just wrote. But, as we discussed at the reveal, the new Scout is way nicer than many of us expected. I do think it could run the option and price gamut from base to lux like the 4runner and Landcruiser through Lexus GX. I also think it is fair if someone wants a 1000 mile range, I want some damn massage seats 😁!
