I agree it would be nice. I have always had camper shells on my truck. Having a dog and living in snow country it's a must. If we have to wait for companies like GFC it will take years after the Scouts are released before they will be available. Just a factory straight forward shell no bed or rtt deal.

Are you referring to a cap or a camper? When I hear "camper" I think of something different than a simple cap over the truck bed, which are usually built aftermarket.
Do any OEM's offer full-sized pick-ups with their own caps? I'm not sure I have seen any.
I won’t need a cap but I’d rather see SM design a concept for one then license it out very cheap to one or two manufacturers that are set up to make them. I think that approach would be a win for everyone
I would add that it would be nice to have aftermarket (but approved) accessories be in the order screen. That way they can be added to the purchase. For those utilizing financing, the accessories can be added to the payment.
No, not wrong at all, but I think that is what the 3rd parties do anyway, and manufacturing and storing caps is likely just a distraction for Scout. Would agree that if an aftermarket cap were "approved" and priced as an accessory by Scout, that might be a better way to go... Similar to how Rivian partnered with Yakima on the RTT I suppose.

Good read. Actually pretty reassuring, wonder if SM will use or provide an option for heat pumps.
It would be a big miss if they don't. Heat pumps are becoming the default equipment in EVs currently.
