Basic or All Decked Out?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I’d like to believe that to for my wallets sake but even I’m realistic to know what I saw wasn’t feasible at $60K. Just the leather they used was high end-it didn’t show that way in photos but seeing it in person it was nicer that the leather chair we bought years ago because I wanted a quality leather chair. Only nicer they could used would’ve been ostrich or A5 Waygu beef hide 🤣
Yeah. I'll bet that was top of the line. Show off your best.

So, looking at the two interiors we've seen — the one for the Traveler and the other for the Terra — I'm curious how many of the interior features will crossover between the two and how they'll all be priced.

I'm thinking that the tan leather seats in the Traveler might be the more expensive trim option than the grey seats seen in the Terra, but I'm not really sure. And honestly, I dig both of them! I really love that bench seat and hope that it's cheaper. 🤞 Also, the hemp wood we see in the Terra looks freaking fantastic in my opinion... whether it's the luxury or the basic option, I want it!

I can say sadly the interior designer I spoke with would not confirm and simply said-it’s a concept. I can live with a simpler leather/pleather so long as they keep the seats the dual material because they screamed “unique” and Scouts should be unique

Let me just say they were both spectacular. I wouldn’t think either of the versions shown are a lower spec option.

Oh right on, good to know! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, but won't lose sleep over it.

And agreed... so long as they can keep the two-tone look I'll be a happy camper.

Also, appreciate your response to my earlier comment. And I can totally see what ya mean about the interior now that ya point it out... that really does look like some high-end leather! If they can pull it off without draining my bank account, I'm all in, but I'm def not counting on it.

I’m good with the basics + a few niceties such as ventilated front seats, the chilled compartment in the front arm rest and a retractable rear cargo cover. On the software side, I would like the Apple Music and Podcasts apps, YouTube and TuneIn (assuming Apple CarPlay isn’t available)

I've thought I wanted my next vehicle to be full luxury until I started to price them out - then I wind-up back at basic trim levels with some niceties.

I do realize the importance of marriage-saving dual climate control... so I won't ever go lower than that trim lol.

I used to enjoy adding quality purpose-built aftermarket products- so I'd lean to more economical packages and improve over time (especially stereo, wheels, suspension, etc.). Now that I have less time but more funds, I'll probably pick more factory niceties - and vehicles are just including more these days.

We'll see what's included in the different Scout packages as more info comes out. One thing is pretty universal though- I don't know if I've ever seen a stock wheel that I liked, so those will be in the budget.
