Who else do we want to do a hands on review?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

It was so fun seeing the Scout yesterday on Jay Leno’s Garage. I am ready for more already! It got me thinking who else would be fun to watch. I love the Throttle House guys. Also if Jason Cammisa could do one of his brand retrospective videos on the history of the Scout and then have the new one to review. Stuff like this will make the wait more enjoyable.

Derek from Vice Grip Garage would be great, but he's more of a drag a junkheap out of the weeds and get it running kind of guy.

He does have a diesel scout that he got running and drove home on one episode of his show a few years ago.

Harry Metcalfe for a well-seasoned review from a guy who owns/owned EVs and also has a farm so actual practicality and off-roading is tested.
Autogefühl for objective, detailed, and white-labcoat-wearing level of German review content.
The Car Mom for talking points to help sell the other half.

I laughed pretty hard when Scott told Jay that this might the most expensive car he has driven. Personally though, I have seen enough of the concept vehicles, no matter who gets the next look. We have lots of footage showing what the vehicles will look like, and I love what I see (they had me at the TN reveal), but we will not learn much more until we get a look at a more developed prototype. Most of the buttons are not operational, the drivetrain is not close to final, the body is probably tacked on at points, and most things are just place holders. Honestly I cringed for Scott and the Scout team through the test drive sequence with every whine, rattle, and thump at 20 mph, knowing that this is not even close to what we will see in the coming months.

I am as excited as everyone to see more, but I can wait for the next iteration.

And imagine all the 3-d printed parts getting abused 🤞

It’s definitely one of the more functional prototypes. Ive seen some crap ones from a certain brand won’t say who… they won’t put door handles on. Pretty much they make the interior and seal it off.

Munro Live with an actual first production/show 2027 Scout so he can give all of us the run down on quality with Scott. Like what Munro did with Rivian and RJ with the Rivian road test/production vehicle.
They also do good teardowns and talk about the nuts and bolts of the battery packs, motors, etc. They have some good ones on the Kia EV9.
