What are you driving until release?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
It will take a lot to pull me away from this one, but Scout can hold onto my $100 until I'm ready to make that decision.

We have an early Rivian R1T (Feb 2019 reservation & March 2022 delivery) and a couple month old Land Cruiser 250. Love the Rivian when it's not in the shop being serviced. Most likely will be selling it before the 5 yr 60k warranty is up which will be well before either of the Scout's enter production. Not sure what will be the interim vehicle yet. We have reservations on both the Terra & Traveler, both EV only. My wife's first vehicle in the 80s was a Scout so she is excited for the Traveler & I must say I like the looks of the SUV over the truck. We'll see how things progress with Scout over the next few years but can't wait to see them succeed. It was a great reveal and happy with the specs I've seen so far. 2004 Nissan Titan -driven AM daily to the beach or the trails, but usually back home before work to save the $20 per round-trip commute lol. It also pulls our travel trailer 1-2 times/month, and w/ 6" lift and 35's, it handles any offroad activities I venture into.

2020 Toyota Camry -strictly a commuter; replaced my 04 Camry that we passed to our daughter, but I figure I'll always have a Toyota in the driveway; see below.

2010 Nissan Armada - My wife's daily driver, but we were looking to swap for a 4Runner or Land Cruiser in the next few years.

Originally I thought about going after the Traveler as our Armada replacement, but now I'm sold on the Terra since I can basically replace the Armada and Titan with one multi-purpose vehicle in four years + keep the Camry; OR if we get impatient and wind up w/ a Toyota SUV, it will replace the Titan and Camry

I have owned my '09 Tacoma since new in June of '09. It is currently at 133K miles, but I'll be driving from Boston, MA to Ft. Myers, FL later this week.

Because of my semi-annual 1600 mile trip, the 500 mile range of the Scout is vital to me.

My other vehicle is an '01 Toyota Avalon with ~120K miles on it.

This is my "Florida car," so it does not rack up as many miles as the Tacoma. However it is 23 years-old.

I'm not sure which vehicle would go if we were to get a Scout, and therefore not sure which model - Traveler or Terra - would best suit our needs. I guess that if the Tacoma starts to give me trouble, we'll go with a Terra. If we figure that the Avalon is getting too old, we'll go with a Traveler. Both Toyotas have been extremely reliable to date.

We had a non-refundable $300 deposit on a Lucid Air Pure. I loved the technology of the Lucid. However, after reading in the Lucid forums about the issues that owners were experiencing, the cost of minor body repairs, and to be honest I grew tired of the many Lucid fanbois in the forums (there is a sense of entitlement with these owners that I don't share, and did not wish to be associated with), we decided to walk away from our reservation.

Currently own a '22 Volvo S60 T8 (PHEV) and a '21 VW id.4 (BEV).

Plan is to replace the id.4 with a Scout Terra w/Harvester.

The id.4 is not a bad car (besides being ugly as sin) but I bought it used and heavily depreciated with the plan to replace it in 2027, so the timing is perfect.

'22 Lightning Lariat ER that we own and has plummeted in value so we will keep it a long time. Plus it powers our house daily when we are in town. Wife has an Ioniq 5 Limited AWD and her lease expires in September. I'm already trying to figure out what we are going to get her to fill the gap. Looking at all kinds of used EVs. I swore we'd never own a Tesla again but I'm looking at them and already justifying to myself that if we buy used we aren't supporting the lunatic.

Having owned 4 EVs there is no way we can go back to an ICE or Hybrid. We have a '16 Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel at our second home and I hate it and I used to love diesels.

Maybe get a used ID.4? Since they will be on the same platform, you might well get a feel of it. Also, a 2-3 years ID4 will be well depreciated already. Saying this as an ID4 owner. :ROFLMAO:
Might be what we end up doing. I'm guessing by next summer we could pick up one for under 25k and take advantage of the used EV tax credit assuming it doesn't go away on January 7th :poop:

That is exactly what I did. Got a 21 Pro S for $24,999, priced exactly to get the credit.

Great car ruined by bad software, dumb electronic door handles, poor build quality compared to German-built VWs, and horrific depreciation. Thankfully it's a lease and that lease is up Q1 2027 which should line up with Scout unless things get delayed then we'll have to look elsewhere.
