Traveler Ultimate Wish List for Scout Motors

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Scout Motors, you have brought us an amazing, nearly-perfect production-intent concept that has us enthusiasts buzzing and eagerly anticipating 2027! I reserved a Traveler Electric during the launch event and have been obsessing over all the YouTube videos and forum posts. I haven't been this excited for a new vehicle in I don't know how long. If the price doesn't climb into the Rivian R1 range and stays competitive with the upcoming R2, this may be the perfect vehicle we've been waiting for.

That said, I have a few suggestions I recommend that would make both the Traveler and the Terra even more perfect. Here's my list in order of importance:

1. Optional panoramic, opening sunroof (glass section over driver) with shade, like what GM or Kia/Hyundai offer. I love the Cabana top as an option at least, however I won't be able to open it as often during the summer in Phoenix.

2. Lane-Change Assist camera video embedded in driver gauge cluster screen, like Kia/Hyundai/Genesis.

3. Cooled seats (not just heated).

4. Rear seat cup holders. Love the Kia EV6 sliding compartment option!

5. Roof Rails with swing-out cross-bars like the Subaru Outback.

The absence of any or all of these items won't be deal-breakers, but they would greatly enhance your amazing products, making them more appealing to an even wider range of consumers.

Guess you missed the existing wish list. Much of this has been discussed other than swing roof rails. Some of these items are already included-rewatch the launch video (rear cooled seats-likely an upgrade)
Operable glass roof has been requested multiple times so maybe-but won’t be as big as current opening and will lower inter roof height which may bother many-not sure?

Seat Material
I have bird dogs that will be in and out of the vehicle, and with snow where we live are often wet. Subaru in their wilderness edition has a seat material that is cloth like but waterproof and durable. Would love something like that since i have been known to get in my truck with wet waders on. Also, a track system for adding bars for things like rod carriers, ect.

Did you see when I posted this? I said all this back in October when Scout Motors was looking for feedback... I watched the launch live, when I ordered my Traveler and went back and rewatched later, and I've seen everything since then.

There are so many replies to different subjects now it is hard to read everything. Rack system for Thule or Yakima bars I did not see on their product description. I would love a very durable interior fabric so i don't have to use a seat cover but not a deal breaker. Thanks for info.

Audi’s design for ventilated seats are pretty useless... and the extra noise of the seat’s fan isn’t enough to drown out passenger complaints about how warm they feel. 🙄

Totally agree on side view mirror camera image display in instrument panel. Genius idea from Kia/Hyundai and wish it was federally mandated like backup cameras.

I want to say at one point, someone (Honda?) held a patent on a blind-spot camera appearing in the instrument cluster or media display when the turn signal was actuated, and that's part of why it's not more widespread (licensing that patent costs money).
