Traveler Ultimate Wish List for Scout Motors

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Scout Motors, you have brought us an amazing, nearly-perfect production-intent concept that has us enthusiasts buzzing and eagerly anticipating 2027! I reserved a Traveler Electric during the launch event and have been obsessing over all the YouTube videos and forum posts. I haven't been this excited for a new vehicle in I don't know how long. If the price doesn't climb into the Rivian R1 range and stays competitive with the upcoming R2, this may be the perfect vehicle we've been waiting for.

That said, I have a few suggestions I recommend that would make both the Traveler and the Terra even more perfect. Here's my list in order of importance:

1. Optional panoramic, opening sunroof (glass section over driver) with shade, like what GM or Kia/Hyundai offer. I love the Cabana top as an option at least, however I won't be able to open it as often during the summer in Phoenix.

2. Lane-Change Assist camera video embedded in driver gauge cluster screen, like Kia/Hyundai/Genesis.

3. Cooled seats (not just heated).

4. Rear seat cup holders. Love the Kia EV6 sliding compartment option!

5. Roof Rails with swing-out cross-bars like the Subaru Outback.

The absence of any or all of these items won't be deal-breakers, but they would greatly enhance your amazing products, making them more appealing to an even wider range of consumers.

I'm fairly certain that #1 was called out in the release. That the Glass top will have a powered shade.

I believe it has also been confirmed that there are 3 roof options available (or, planned to be available). Regular steel, Glass non-opening (with powered shade), and the Cabana roof.

I'm also fairly certain I that ventilated seats are already confirmed to be an option.

The other ones I'm totally onboard with. Although I think it is difficult to imagine that they would NOT include cupholders/flip down console/armrest of some sort in the middle rear seat (especially given how wide the seats are).

I'll also add that the front bench seat, should have a folding console like most other trucks have. The one shown in the reveal doesn't really look like it folded, and also had no cupholders/etc on the back. But I presume that this is more an artifact of it being a concept/prototype, rather than a conscious design choice.

The difference is I want a section of glass that opens, like ones offered by GM (Cadillac, GMC, Chevy) and Kia/Hyundai. In the photo, the section over the driver opens up in the photo I included.

One thing about ventilated seats, different auto makers mean different things when they use that term. Some (eg volvo) just mean blowing cabin air through the seats. That’s not great if the cabin air is hot. What’s really nice is Kia, which blows airconditoned air through the seats. When you get in a hot car and it blows cool air through the seat, ones back is a lot less sweaty (don’t ask me how I know :)

Ah, skim-read that one wrong, sorry :O.

Actually, AFAIK, "most" ventilated seats actually "suck" air, rather than blow it.

Although I think technically there is a difference between "cooled" seats, and ventilated seats. And maybe that's what you're talking about with the Kia?

Yep, that's exactly what I meant. Once again, Kia/Hyundai and GM have some of the best in the industry.

LOL! No problem. I edited the post with the parentheses for clarification on the sunroof and took out the "ventilated" part for accuracy for the seats.

Check throughthe posts like a scavenger hunt and you’ll find most of these already answered and/or clarified
