I hope the new Scout does something similar to this. Dual motor and conventional solid axles and suspension similar to the aftermarket Jeep Wrangler setups. 400 HP and 400 mile range would be excellent.

Me, I prefer solidly built swing axles at all four corners. IFS and IRS do not need to be a compromise to offroading and in my opinion can increase ground clearance substantially by tucking diffs up in the frame. A rear diff hanging down is your max ground clearance with solid axles.
However if Mack built passenger vehicles the axle diffs would be sideways feeding from the top and bottom of axle no lower in middle tha on ends. But that would infringe on interior space.
Ferry Porsche wheel motors from 125 years ago (updated of course) would be my preference.
