So, how many reservations so far?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

We are all curious how many reservations are coming in. Not sure what a good number would be. Any hints when Scout might start bragging about the numbers?

I reserved within a few minutes of the presentation ending - probably should have opened a second browser and reserved when they said reservations were open. That said, perhaps it is not a bad thing to let someone else deal with any potential bugs from the first few weeks/months of production.

They said any members by 10/31 get priority.
My hunch is 1st year members who reserved will get first priority followed by forum community members. Nothing was stated, just speculating because they made the push at end of year one to get signed on for status so just figure it’s a perk??? Guess we won’t know for sure for quite some time 🤣

The form just exploded with activity! I don’t want to miss posts from the early members I’ve got to know over the past couple years, so I just followed a bunch of y’all. Based on what was revealed, Scout was certainly listening to us during those early days. It sure feels like we each may have left a tiny little mark on the design. I really appreciate forum members getting order priority. I still reserved within moments anyway!

There were so many things incorporated into the design and things they are working on that came straight from this forum. A lady with the marketing promotion team ( I think k that’s right…kind of a blur) said they look at the forum often and go down the rabbit hole!

Brand new member here, and first post (heyo :D).

Is this what you posted here written/posted anywhere on the forums? Or was it something they said in person?

I was excited to see VW pick up the brand, but had no idea these forums existed until after the reveal (I watched it live). But when I saw this post I decided I had to sign up just in case it was true (my reservation was like 20hrs after the event, and I registered today).

Does that mean potentially I’m closer to the “front of the line” than I was just earlier today?

Also, looking forward to leaving some feedback in the various other threads :).

Thanks all!

Maybe if you say it enough times, it’ll come true?

What I’m curious about is where I see they expect the factory to be completed next year and the 1st factory production Scout to roll off the assembly line in 25.

However, they won’t be available for sale till sometime in 27. I get they need time to work out the bugs & fine tune everything but why such a big gap

The factory is moving along nicely, but for now, we are saying 2027 for customer deliveries. We will be building pre-production vehicles before that, test mules before that, and on and on. On one hand, it is hard to get people excited about vaporware they haven't seen. On the other hand, now that we have shown the vehicles, there is a long wait. We will try our best to keep people interested and excited along the way. Stories, videos, regular updates here in the Scout Community forums, events, and even taking a few of you along for the ride.

Would love to see some more of the accessories planned and see some more shots of the smaller wheel options 17 or 18’s instead of 20’s. Perhaps a “off road school” / teaser event would help the long wait and highlight some of the capability of this platform. After the long delay in Bronco deliveries that definitely helped me stay patient and maintain enthusiasm to keep reservation.

Jamie mentioned earlier that 18’s are smallest at this time, just so you are aware. I followed the Bronco too so I fully get what you’re saying

If you build it, they will come.

Don’t worry about keeping people excited. We don’t need an Off Roadeo. We don’t need a Scout hammock or flag. We certainly don’t need special treatment for a select few. Just build it.

I completely agree. I’m still bruised a little from the absurdity of the Bronco launch and the 2 year wait I had before it delivered. I did the Bronco Off-Roadeo experience with my wife and we sincerely loved it. I’d love to have a similar (if not better) experience like that with Scout. Then again, not having a BS dealership to deal with is already an improvement. As is the ability to take delivery at the plant. That’s already 2 huge wins!

I’d for sure want the pics on the assembly line of mine being built. As well as the ability to have an additional window sticker to be printed and framed. I did this with our Bronco.

Under promise and over deliver. Way better to say 2027 and deliver in 26 than the other way around.
