Scout Color Poll #1

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I'm getting ready (next Spring or early Summer) to paint it out again and this time I'm thinking of a yellow with a white stripe and top. Kind of fun that I can change up the color over a weekend. Longer if I have rust to cut and patch or a scar to fix. I also don't have to shoot it all at once. I can do a section at a time if I'm squeezing it in between other projects.

I’m a person who will fall down some rabbit holes and as such ended up subscribed to the Dip Your Car YouTube channel, just in case I ever want to DIY an iridescent paint job. I don’t know anyone personally who has ever used these paints or if they’re any good or if they are trash. I just know it’s fun to watch their videos.

That site has some very interesting finishes. Thanks for posting.

Yep I’ve seen some of their work and I’m pretty sure I probably subscribed to their channel at some point. Didn’t realize they were still around. I’ve plasti dipped many things over the years with good success. It goes on easy compared to traditional aerosol paints, very forgiving. I’ve done mostly wheels which always held up quite well and so did the chrome grill and bumpers I covered with it. It’s nice being able to undo it if you need to for any reason. I will say that it only holds up to a certain amount of abuse over the years though. I know of an older UTV that was done about 12 or so years ago and shows a lot of scars from various altercations with nature and otherwise - needs to be redone by the owner at this point, but the beauty is you can peel it off and start fresh if needed. It survived more abuse than I thought it would though. I would say Plasti Dip spray can be very useful stuff and works pretty well if applied correctly. It can be used in ways that look terrible too though, so I guess it needs to be kept away from some people. :ROFLMAO:

Just realized that the three leading colors in the polls are what SM has shown us. Copper, similar to Tahitian Red, Blue/Gray on the Terra and the dark green was render on the reveal video. Now talk about listening to your customers!
Yes. Or a case of "I'm no paint expert, but I know it when I see it!" *grin*

I too like all of these colors. But there are calls for brighter colors as well. Glad I'm not a designer! I think for me I would go with the darker colors on the Traveler. If they came out with a smaller version that I would use more aggressively, I would likely go with a brighter color. This is do in part to the difference in how I would use the two vehicles (Family car vs. High-mountain explorer) and partly because lighter/brighter colors show less "brush scrapes."

Hello Scouts!

We thought it would be fun to talk colors and see what people are interested in. So, let's assume black, white and silver are in the mix already. Here are a variety of different shades of fun colors for your voting pleasure. We are going to limit this just three votes per registered user, so pick your top 3 choices. Since it doesn't officially count, don't bother creating a different account just to bump something up. We will run some semi-official color polls much later as we get closer to production. Ok, so here are some general choices:

That Blue Grey is boss

Can we compromise with a spruce green rather than a super dark green? Similar to the Rivian or Volvo green tone? That with the brown/terracotta leather would be Mint!
This color?

Ah. Yes, that is a good color. I am not a Mercedes Benz man, but this is the best green on the market right now in my opinion.

That’s nice. My first car I bought myself was dark green and have always loved British racing green. For some reason though I don’t care for it on SUV’s. But that is a great shade of green

Yeah. Spot on. That Nori green is AMAZING. I would do that on a scout. My wife ordered a GX then cancelled it but I tried very hard to get her to go with that green so I have to back track a bit on my earlier comment about green on SUV’s. I forgot this beauty.
I’d just like to see an earthy green that is different from everyone else. That’s why the nori green is so unique
