Reveal - No Way!!!!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Just saw the reveal. Neither looks like the old Scouts. Kind of looks like a Rivian. The roofs don’t come off, the front grill is too skinny with black plastic, the rock guard comes up too high on the front bumper, and the body is too short and skinny. It’s the size of the Bronco Sport. Nothing inside of the interior says old Scout. The vehicle has very clean, modern lines - very bland. It’s just a cross-over Ute that they slapped the Scout name on to sell it. I am sitting here listening to everything the head designer is bragging about, yet Is everything that sucks about it. You may want exactly all of this. I wanted a Scout.

I AM KEEPING MY BRONCO AND PASSING.

EXIT: I was wrong about the size. It is bigger than I thought.

While I don't own a Bronco, I'll keep my 61' Scout and wait for this to grow on me. Very disappointing that they reference the 80's Scout. Was the first twenty years "chopped liver".

Only reason to be that rounded a shape is if you rolled it in a creek, which is what my sister did with our Scout way back when. Agree it looks like a Rivian. Why bother? Very disappointed.

Better looking than a Rivian Truck and has same over all length of a cybertruck at the price the cybertruck should have been better range and Did you say it was 4wd ? little slower, less towing capacity and less tech than a cybertruck. Nice compromise if you can keep the price estimated. Better looking Pickup than both the Cybertruck and Rivian. Its not a bad compromise for the TERRA I think its a winner

Reserved a Terra. Hopefully when the B&P is up getting the extended range option and a few beefier off-road robust options won’t skyrocket the price beyond reach.
Keeping the Bronco until it dies because I’m too far invested in it to let it go. Plus a ton of memories made in it already.
Definitely interested to see how this unfolds!

Me too ... I put a reservation in for a Terra ... just a few things I don't like about it Not sure how I feel about the row of switches and need to be able to fit 4x8 building materials ... maybe it will do with tailgate down...

I suspect I will adjust and cancel my cyber-truck reservation... (after a bit of thought)

Not sure if I can wait two more years ... But there are things I don't like about the cybbertruck starting with the elevated price...

I use to own Jeeps and still have a patriot if you can call it a Jeep...Always thought about getting a Bronco but they got bigger like a Blazer... and I tried to buy one of the last Scout II back in august of 1980 but all they had was a fully dressed V8 that was out of my budget use to drive a scout II as a surveyor... and loved it too bad the roof is not detachable on the Traveler thought

I have a Rivian R2 reserved but have now also reserved both models of the Scout. Keeping my options open. Rivian has a SC already about an hour away but I'd prefer something a lot closer. Might come down to that but the Scout models both look great to me and appear to hit my sweet spots in respect to features and cost. We'll see what the final product is like and what sort of support infrastructure is developed. Who's motors and batteries will they use? Much to be determined yet.

If the Bronco is too big for you, you should check out the Bronco Sport. It’s the same size as this new Scout Traveler. EDIT: I have the full size Bronco and love it. But I need a second vehicle.

At least from what I have read, the Traveler is longer and wider than the Bronco. It appears to be somewhat more comparable in size to a Tahoe. It is probably longer with the spare tire, and possibly wider (but the Tahoe width is only published without mirrors).

not according to the measurements posted.
Traveler: 92" wide x 76" tall x 208" long
Bronco: 86" (mirrors) or 76" (no mirrors) wide x 72" tall x 174" long
Bronco Sport: 82" (mirrors) or 74" (no mirrors) wide x 70" tall x 173" long

Well goodness! I didn’t mean exactly 100%!!! And the Sashquash package gives you 35” tires, so it is taller than what you quoted above. And the 174 long is for the two door version Bronco. The 4 door (the same as the Scout Traveler), is 199 long.

I get it-but it is much more significant than the Bronco Sport. Having seen it in person and feeling the way you do I respect opinion but I will say it is a BEAUTIFUL vehicle and in person-NOTHING in the market looks close.
But opinion accepted. I dumped my Bronco after constant problems so I hope yours fares better.

So as soon as the reveal happened, my first instinct was "oh so they just copied Rivian's homework and warmed it over a little".
Now that I've had time to sleep on it.....from a styling perspective, I don't think that opinion is very far off (although it's since grown on me).

However, I will say that what makes a huge difference - to me at least - is the BOF construction, what seems to be a laser-focus on off road driving, the added versatility of the Harvester option, and (as stupid as it sounds), actually offering a bench seat. If I ever get to the point I can afford a $60k vehicle this'll be top of the list.

Now if only they could do something about the "it has too many doors" problem.....

Sure. I respect that. The guy wanted a vehicle smaller than the full size Bronco, so I just suggested the Bronco Sport. I guess I messed up with the sizing of the Scout Traveler. I mess up all the time in life. Sorry! I’m sure the Scout is beautiful to many. As I said earlier, it is exactly what some people want. I was extremely disappointed as it was not what I personally wanted. I have been waiting since the announcement of the Scout for this day. I put off buying the second vehicle I need in order to buy a Scout. I wanted retro old school and they just went another direction is all. I’m sure they will sell lots of them. I’m surprised by your Bronco issues! I have a 2023 Bronco Heritage and I haven’t had one problem! But I went with the 2.3 L with a manual. Congrats on your Scout! Which one you getting?

Well you have 2-3 years to save up. You can do it!!!
