It is hard to tell how big it may be or how small based on the teasers that have been released. Four things I think are important to consider when looking at the size and scale:
1: Wheelbase - the original Scouts (and new 2-door broncos) had 100" , the original Scout Travelers (and new 4-door broncos) have 118" wheelbase. Obviously the shorter wheelbase, the better it is at offroading, but I also understand that means less battery.
2: Door sizing - The original Scout II door was very long. The 2-door bronco door is 6" longer than the front doors on the 4-door. I think the longer door makes it look more like the originals. But again, I understand if this cannot be accomplished.
3: Rear Passenger Room/Room Behind Passengers: More is better
4: Height: Again, more is better.
Looking at some example from recent history, I saw the Hummer H3 and thought that was a good example of appropriate scale. It has a 112" wheelbase (between the Bronco 2-door and 4-door), 4 doors (with plenty of room for rear passengers and cargo behind them), and it came with 33's but was designed to accommodate 35's.
For scaling, I like the H3 as a reference. It looks great on 35's, has plenty of room, and the wheelbase is a happy medium.
I am interested what size everyone else would prefer for their SM Scout?
